Anyone know if the regular power window switches can be replaced with the AUTO switch which is on the drivers side effectively making all the windows AUTO up/down? I had this feature on my RX300 and it was great. The other thing is the drivers side AUTO window has pinch control so if your hand is accidentally caught in the window, it automatically retracts. Is this a function of the switch or the power window motor?
Other features the RX had that the MDX doesn't:
Driver and passenger captains seats (fold down arm rests).
Daytime running lights (should have been a no brainer).
Remote integrated with the key (less clumsy and more stylish).
Power Lumber seat.
Remotely opening windows and sunroof.
Transmitter in key was required to start the engine.
Wallet key which opened the door only (no transmitter).
Used regular gas, not premium (save some $$$ living in NY)
Don't get me wrong the MDX has feature the RX didn't, mostly because we're comparing a '00 to '03. But overall the MDX feels better mechanically and quality wise. Much better ride and much more comfortable and easier to drive even though it is bigger. |

The Auto Up feature also incorporates a safety pressure switch, so that if the window is closed on a hand, it will re-open. I have not tested this feature, but we can test it next time you come over.
The answer to your question, in my opinion, is probably not without some serious modification.
Personally, I want auto lock doors. I haven't remembered to lock the doors in my MDX since I got it. |
