Finally, before we embark on our summer (driving trip) to Maine, I've got an appointment with Streeteffectz to install two headrest monitors along with either the PS2 or the Xbox. Still trying to decide.
Appointment is on Wednesday. |

| And another |
| paul123 |
| What is the anticipated cost of the project, installation and parts? Looks very nice!! |
| laborlitigator |
| He quoted me 1,200 for everything. . . |
| theXman |
| are you going to hook up the navi screen too? |
| laborlitigator |
| Unfortunately, I don't have the NAV |
| paul123 |
| Sounds like an excellent price. |
| laborlitigator |
| I am excited about it. I'll post pics upon completion. |
| Captain MDX |
| Sweet!!!!!! But I don't like how it jams the front headrest to fit it in. |
| laborlitigator |
| Reason I chose the headrests was that I can remove them if I feel there is a chance of someone breaking in. |
| BklynMDX |
That is definitely a great price with install!
Has anyone gone to SE to get the DVD Nav conversion? How much were they charging? |
| laborlitigator |
| I may want to get the visor televisioin |

The other occupant of the MDX doesn't want a visor TV. I think that's just because she hasn't seen it yet.
Tell us about this part, when you get the info. |
| laborlitigator |
| They want $350 for the visor TV. . . a little too much if you ask me. I think I'll pass on it for now. |
| ron@se |
| The $350 for the visor screen is an Icon 5.8" widescreen kit w/wireless remote, INSTALLED in your factory visor. The screens we will be putting in the headrests are 6.5" Icon w i d e s c r e e n s and won't look squished at all like the ones we did above. |

I don't know that I am allowed to post that on here. I only posted about the visor monitors because someone other than me posted it first. |

Which did you go with, PS2 or Xbox or neither ?
Where did they mount the console ?
Is sound wired thru the factory speakers ?
Did the total cost include the console (PS2/Xbox) ?
I assume that the driver or front passenger cannot monitor/censor the activities of the backseat occupants ?!? |

He had to have gone with the PS2 since GTA Vice City is pictured and currently not available for the XBOX. |

Crimson was right about going with the PS2 since it did fit better under the seats and I did not need to purchase the darn remote to use the DVD player.
Console was mounted under the driver's seat and was wired courtesy of the Blitzsafe adapter through my CD changer button which in turn uses the factory speakers.
Total cost did not include the PS2. |

Oh yeah, BTW, the PS2 does have a content monitor. Any R or PG-13 movies have to have a special code inputed to allow the viewers to watch. |

| Looks great, have been thinking about something like that. |

Glad you are happy with the final product, hope you and your children enjoy it for a long time to come. If you have any questions, problems (hopefully not), etc, we're always here.
Thanks for the compliments guys! |

LL,
That was a cute story-in-photos you told. The first (fighting) photos didn't look staged at all!
Really clean installation. |
| slackass |
| Looks awesome LL. As usual, Streetz does top notch stuff. What kind of adapter is mounted in the rear of the front console? That is a really nice touch. I like that idea alot. |
| laborlitigator |
| The adapter is a game port. A/V inputs with a 110 power plug. |
| jswift2000 |
| Nice install. How do the xbox and ps2 play in the x? Love the kids - the little one is adorable. |

Hey ron@se,
Any West Coast/Bay Area road trips coming up? With your quality work, you would be very busy out here. $$$$ |

I second mdxxxx's request. I'm still looking for a SoCal installer to make the NAV-DVD viewing modification. |

R-rated and PG-13 I understand, but do adult movies require a special code (since none are officially rated anymore, costs to much). Sometimes grownups play in the backseat too! |

Hey LL, another question on your setup:
If you have a DVD playing in the PS2, do you have a secondary source for sound other than the factory speakers ? I was thinking if your kids want to watch Sponge Bob and you want to listen to your Springsteen CD, can both be done at the same time ??? |
| laborlitigator |
| Well, I don't have the wireless headphones if that's what you're asking. . . I can always unplug the audio going to the speakers and simply play my CD over their movie. |

Hi Labor, was wondering how your headrest tv setup was holding up? I`m looking into getting the same setup you have. I just emailed Streeteffectz for a quote.
:) |
| laborlitigator |
| Absolutely fine. It's really a boredom/fighting breaker for the girls on trips. I've had no real problems with the set up. If there are any problems, the guys overthere will absolutely take care of you. |
| kseto007 |
Thats great to hear Labor.
I just got a quote for the Myron & Davis headrests with 7” widescreens for $925 for the pair. The pair of 6” headrests are $655. The dvd player they recommend is an Icon-Tv DVD-100, which is $249.99. None of these prices include installation or shipping.
Sounds like its going to be almost $2K. Circuit City quoted me about the same price.
Now just got to get the wife to buy into the idea.:4: |

Are you getting 4 screens installed? I'd still recommend the ps2 over a dvd player. it costs less in fact. |
| kseto007 |
No, just looking to get the two.
Your right about PS2, you can play DVD's on the machine and play games. I already have the XBox so that should work.
Great idea:4: |
| laborlitigator |
| Go with the 7" headrests, they are well worth it. But if I were you, and if you can get there, have them install the screens. |
| maron10 |
| Good stuff. They are right in Rahway. I'm going there tonight |
