| I've grouped the choices, so just pick the one group that best describes what you most like about your MDX. |

| I believe that Acura excells at providing the "most-bang-for-the-buck" - that is their desired market niche in my opinion. That said I still did not choose Value/Cost; I picked Features/Utility. I would put Handling/Performance 2nd. |

How about a choice for "All Of The Above".
MDX is a great performing, great handling SUV that provides nice ride, lots of comfort and utility at a reasonable price. It is also loaded with useful features and it looks great too. :29: |

| I like our MDX for the quality, looks, features, resale value, also this is my 6th Acura/Honda vehicle, one of the main reasons for purchase is the reliability, none have ever left me on the side of the road. |

Totally agree. I was just telling this to someone the other day. Acura has mastered this concept and it is bringing in customers. It is because of this utility that I am specifically looking at the MDX. Sure, I want the roominess and performance/handling, but my wife wants all the bells and whistles that go with it. The only thing that she doesn't seem to "need" is the NAVI. |

Well said - I agree. I voted for utility b/c I feel that is the best feature of the MDX, especially vs. its competitors. |

When we bought in March '01 (looked in Dec. '00 and ordered Jan 2, '01) I considered the Navi a "toy." However we did not like the looks of the non-navi screen at all. Seemed such an unbecoming waste to have such a large trip computer:rolleyes: Bottom line we bought the Navi for the looks - and are very glad we did. The "toy" become far more of a "necessity" than I ever could have imagined. It has been more than worth the extra cost. We now consider nav systems a requirement and got it on the TL-S we bought later. |

That's interesting. Why do you consider it a "necessity?" Can you give me an example of where you needed to have it? Oh, and I assume this thing talks to you and tells you to make turns, etc...Is it precise? I guess I need to read up on the Nav system before making a final decision. Thanks. :) |

It is way cool AND it is way useful. Twice recently we used the Navi to reroute us out of construction traffic on trips away from home. It has proved to be very useful on trips when we are in other cites we were not that familair with; recent examples include Tulsa, Knoxville, and Sarasota.
It is fun to have on trips; it is encouraging to watch the miles and time countdown to zero when you have programmed in a long trip.
It only talks to you when you have programmed it. As for accuracy it is not perfect, but we have never really had any problems with it.
Absolutely no regrets when getting it. On this forum through the years I have heard more than one member regret NOT getting it; I do not recall any wishing they had left it off (except perhaps those in sparse coverage areas - check your area). |

I agree with msu. In fact, I will no longer buy a vehicle that doesn't have a built-in GPS (aftermarket Garmins are very good, but can be a hassle, especially if you have to protect them from theft).
"Necessity?" Well, I guess an SUV isn't an absolute necessity, nor is any vehicle. But, I find a nav system to be such a great help in driving. They are very precise, and will always get you where you want to go (though not always the best way).
I find that I can concentrate much more on my driving, w/o having to worry about directions.
Note: I cruise around a lot and go to all sorts of fun new places. If you use your vehicle primarily to go to and from work, a nav system is less valuable.
The Nav system in the MDX is very good. It's not perfect, of course, but it's one of the better ones I've used. My favorite feature of the MDX Nav system? The "Go Home" feature. No matter where you are, what time of night it is, just select "Go Home" and it guides you home. |

I like the interior seating ergonomics (or whatever you would call it). i.e. its like you're driving a big car or minivan rather than a pickup truck or some other suv where you're behind a high console (actually this is the case for the RX3X0 and X5 also).
(who voted nothing at all?) |
