| I'm heading down your way with my X later this summer and was planning on visiting Nogales briefly. My question is; can I park on the US side and walk to the Mexican town of Nogales like I do in say Algodones outside Yuma? Is the Mexican town even worth visiting? I'm going to Tombstone and generally like to spend some time, or rather, the wife does, buying Mexican trinkets. Thanks. |

Feliz, I'm not familiar with the Nogales area but there's another spot you might want to try where you can drive across the border and do some serious shopping and get some beach time. You'll need to buy Mexican insurance (there's information on the website: www.puerto-penasco.com). I've walked across the bridge into Mexico from El Paso and driven through San Diego/Tijuana to Ensenada. Haven't heard much about Nogales. I'll check tomorrow at work to see if anyone knows.

Thanks for the quick response and link mdefrances. I have crossed at Tijuana but that's getting to be a hassle, it's become a very large city and a busy border crossing. We've also been to Ensenada and enjoyed it. For simpicity sake we like crossing were we can just walk over and do some browsing. Another good one for that is Del Rio Texas, you walk over a bridge crossing the Rio Grande and your in Mexico, like the El Paso crossing.
Thanks again, I'll visit the site you passed on. |

Yes you can park your X on the US side and walk across the border into Nogales, I have done it many times. I lived in Arizona for 27 years and we would go to Nogales at least twice a year. |
