ok so my mom got a 01 mdx with 48 k on it. She loves it as do i. BUT there is a problem. Every single time we start car the ac/climate controls are all set back to Full power on speed and 74 degrees. Even if the day before we had it on 64 with it on half speed. its getting a pain in the butt when u get in the car and u get knocked over with a gale force wind. Is there any way to reset this or make it where it holds what u put in the day before. Please help:) Thanks so much :)

| Something doesn't sound right, on my '02 the hvac controls return to the same settings that I left them at. You may want to visit a dealer to have them checked out. |

I do think it is normal for it be set for FULL AUTO everytime you start the car. But the temperature setting should remain wherever you last set it.
The hurricane blower is getting it to cool down rapidly, which I welcome in this weather. Of course, you can go to the interactive screen and change the blower speed. |

If I leave mine on Auto, but not Full Auto when I turn off the ignition, the next time I start the car it remains on Auto just like I left it. I don't have the Navi in case that makes a difference. |

Just went down to the garaged and checked. It stays where you leave it, non auto and temp...
Unless this was changed in the 02 X's or it is different in the non navigation models it sounds like it is not working properly. |

I just tried all 3 modes, OFF, Auto, and Full Auto In each case it remains as previously set, including any temp setting. |

Are you sure the noise is from the front? There have been some folks with broken rear sway bars. |

Do a search for "Thud" and let us know if that's what it is. If so, there's a TSB for the 01s. |

Welcome, acuraltman789! Where are you located in GA?
Sorry to hear about your mom's X, but it sounds like it needs to be checked out by the Service Dept. Good luck with the fix, let us know how it goes. :p |

| My '01, non-navi, stays where you set it -- fan speed, temp, A/C on, and auto mode. If you set it to Full Auto, then it does its own thing, which drives me nuts (just a short hop, BTW, probably less than a mile :22: ) |

Hey, you're almost using a comeback I've used for years when someone says, "this is driving me nuts" or "You're going to drive me crazy". I simply say: "Relax, it's only a very short trip". :jester: |

If it's not the "thud" check the CV boots on the front. If they are torn, the CV joints will click or "pop" when you are turning. I had the CV boots tear on both my 89 Acura Legends at under 40k miles & had to replace the CV joints on one of them.
Hopefully this isn't the problem - since that wouldn't be covered under warranty. |
