| i am looking to place my order for a mdx next week. i was just wondering do you think i should order the roof racks and side steps from the dealership? i've noticed alot of people ordering from hondacura.com. i know their prices are cheaper but is it really worth the aggrevation of installing them. since i was told a six month wait for a mdx, do you think i should wait for the 2002. i assume the 2002 will be out in about six months. should i order now or be put on a 2002 list. ???????????? thanks |

I don't know about the roof racks, but from what I've read, the side steps are very easy to install.
Six months is an awfully long time, what area of the country are you looking in? |

Well, as a guide - my dealer's charging me $100 to install my side steps...

| I've considered doing the installation of the side steps myself. Pretty easy: 72 bolts. Dealer charges 1.5 hours @ $70/hr shop rate. Looking at $105 + tax; think I'll get him to do it (plus, no warranty issues with having him do it). These are Canadian $$$. You guys south of the border might consider driving here and paying in greenbacks. With the current exchange rate, it would probably cost you about $2.75...... |
