What do you guy's think of the Burlwood shift knob?
Is it worth getting and I'm sure it's a no-brainer of an install? |

| I love it... It looks much better than the leather shift knob... it fits in! Also, you have to get it if you got the wood steering wheel. |

Hi Jcard71:
___In one word, yes. It adds character to the X’s interior that is missing from the factory. “No brainer” was a good choice of words as far as the installation is concerned.

Another resounding yes for the $88 knob. Classy. Get the Acura version, too, IMHO, not the eBay knockoffs. (No offense, guys)
The Acura plood gauge trim is nice, but pricey. For a little more, you can get a full-on plood package from the aftermarket. The aftermarket packages are so complete, that you may not want to install all the pieces: plood overdose.
The plood steering wheel looks really nice, but I chose to keep the standard leather-wrap for comfort. I still drive at "ten and two".
Tommorrow's lesson will be "Polishing Your Plood". |

| I love the classy look BUT my gripe is that it does not match the plood exactly. If Acura can make the wood steering wheel match the plood why couldn't they do the same with the knob. :ucrazy: |

And getting that knob right was probably someone's job. And I will not carry that any further! :D |

| I wouldn't get it and I have no intention of getting it. In fact, I don't like the half-wood steering wheel, either. Felt awkward and clumsy. I'll take the leather all the way around. Much better feel during use. Just my opinion, which appears to be in the minority. :) |

It adds a touch of class to the already classy interior.
I also have the wood steering wheel. |

| FWIW - the burlwood knob is the only OEM accessory in the X that is actually made of wood. I have the saddle interior and thought it was odd that the standard knob was black perforated leather, and not a matching saddle/tan leather. It does add a touch of luxury to the interior, and knowing that its real wood (as opposed to plood) justified the $80 upgrade. If Acura ever offers a real wood steering wheel, I would go for it, but can't seem to justify the $400+ for faux-wood. |

| Just got my shift knob. There were no directions and I don't want to do something wrong. Do I simply unscrew the old knob or is there a hidden screw/pin or something to loosen first? Thanks.;) |

All you do is "lefty" loosy ON YOUR LEATHER KNOB...:D
Righty tighty on your new one...
I sprayed a little WD-40 in the wood knob for an easier fit... |
