I am thinking of adding a satellite tuner to my 2003 touring/nav. I would like any feed back on how it sounds and if one is better than the other. Also where are you placing the reciever and how are you conecting it to the factory head unit. If you have any mounted pictures that would be great also/

Sirius has three satalites that orbit in a figure 8 pattern compared to XM's two. Sirius is a little more every month but you get complete commercial free music. XM was out first but dont let that sway you decision. Go to a few stores and see what they say. Both companies are reporting earnings next week which will give you a good indication of where they stand financially. If I go to sat radio, I will be choosing sirius. Good luck.

Sirius does not have as large a customer base, aftermarket or OEM support as XM, and does cost a little bit more, unless you purchase a yearly plan. If you go XM, your paid subscription allows you access to commercials on most of their popular music stations. I didn't like the idea of paying to listen to commercials (what's the idea behind THAT?).

I've installed my Sirius unit in the bottom of the rear quarter panel below the subwoofer and connected it through a BlitzSafe unit so that it feeds into the CD feed when I hit the CD button the second time (it retains control of the CD changer, so you don't lose any functionality). The blitzsafe unit also allows me to connect an additional external cd changer so I added an Alpine MP3/CD changer so that I can have a combination of 12 CDs and MP3 discs installed at all times, yet still have access to Sirius. After installing Sirius, you may find that your CD changer has become obsolete, even on interstates in the middle of nowhere, even the lower sections of Canada and upper Mexico. If you use BlitzSafe, make sure you get the model which has both CD changer pass-thru and AUX input, or else you only get the AUX input with no pass thru and would not be able to add an external changer in the future if you change your mind.
