I live in the UK and can not by the MDX over here.
I am importing one from Australia. The Acuramdx site has been very useful with regards to accessories. I have bought and shipped various Items from Ray Laks (Tim) who have been most helpful.
Love the Site- see my HONDA MDX pics proir to shipping to the UK! |

| Congrats on your MDX, Why is there a Honda emblem and not Acura Emblem??? Do you have it yet or is it still on the boat from Au. What accessories did you get? I got mine 3 weeks ago today! Its great, I'm sure you will love yours as well!:2: |

The MDX is badged 'Honda' in Austrailia and Japan. In the UK we need Right Hand Drive as we are on the otherside to you guys.
I should get the car mid-september-long wait-shipping is 40 days to UK.
Love the 19" Alloys shown in the gallery-wander what they do to the handling? |

Beautiful!! Enjoy! Hey, an Acura is still a Honda by any other name.
Too bad they have to drill holes in the nose..ouch! to mount your license plates. Granted, much bigger plates.
You can do some searches on the wheels. Lots of experience here.
Biggest advantages of wider lower profile, outside of cosmetic, are better conering overall, maybe even better braking but at the cost of more rolling resistance.
More tendency to hydroplane in the wet, and worse naviagation through snow. |

| Oh yea, I forgot you drive on the other side of the road. well cool! Welcome and I hope those 40 days and Nights go fast for ya. I don't have wide tires and larger rims yet, but I test drove one with 20" wheels and tires. It drove somewhat fermer and the handling and stopping was much better. Enjoy |

| Welcome....Notice the right handed drive. Could you imagine trying to program the navigation if you are right handed???Granted there are the people that are left handed in North America which have a similar problem here. I guarantee my sidewalls would be a mess from bouncing off curbs while fiddling. |

Only thing i've not been able to get is the Navi. It was not an option.
I guess I could try to retro fit but they would our UK disc work on a US system |

Hi LC Man,
You'll be all set driving to Footie matches in your nice X.
Congrats!
I've been watching Man. U. beat everyone they've played over here. Tomorrow they play Barca, and I'm sure they will cuff them as well. |

Do the clear headlights and side blinkers come like that from the factory?
When I was in Australia, I noticed that all the cars had clear corners. I think it looks much better cleared out. I wish cars in the US had stock clear corners.
Anyways...Congrats on the X! |

| There is no Acura in Japan just like there is no Lexus...you get the Honda nameplate for Acura and the Toyota nameplate for Lexus, i.e., RX300 in Japan is the Toyota Harrier. |

Hi Martinjc:
___At least your 7.5K/15K/30K (in miles, not Km’s) service will cost only 70% of what we pay given it’s a Honda vs. an Acura check up …
___Those clear edged lenses are worth gold over here in the states. I wonder how we could possibly get our hands on them?
___Good Luck and congrats on the X or whatever it’s called in Australia.

| Is it my imagination or is the stock tint less on this model than the US version? |

It could be the lighting and the time of day the pic was taken.:8: |

| I think you're right about the tint. |

I would still expect the additive effect of looking through the side window and to the back to be darker than it is in the pic. |

Interesting point. The rear door and front door sides look the same...light. |

| I think they only tinted the windows beside the trunk. |

Hi Crmsnidol:
___You certainly appear to be right on. The rear seat side and rear window look much lighter than American/Canadian based X’s. Great observation!

There is no option for dark tint/privacy glass on the aussie spec. I will have to get that done in UK. |

Clear blinkers side and front are standard- I did not realise that the US Acura were amber- thought something was different |

Guess its down to RHD vs LHD and volumes produced. We need RHD in UK- 'pays you money and takes your choice'!
Can't wait to get it- To many X5's nad ML's in UK! |

| Nice MDX. Do you guys have the option of HID's or xenon lights on the car? |
|
|
| martinjc |
| No we do not. I have see various members descriptions with Xenons, HID etc. I saw a kit in the site in a group buy. Do they make much difference?- Some described as 4100 or 6100?? Do you replace both Hi and Low beam bulbs? |

You don't have to replace both, most people only replace the low beam. jswift2000 has a set of 4100k HID and when he posted the pics before and after, it's like 10X brighter!! |
|

| In the UK we tend to use our Hi beam to flash other drivers-ie aknowledge, give others right of way etc. Do the bulbs have to 'warm up' |

Looks great - good luck. Looking forward to seeing MDX's during my next trip to our company HQ in Adelaide.
Was the front license plate holder dealer installed? It's a shame they drilled holes in your bumper. There's a nice, but North American license plate sized, holder shipped with NA car that attaches to the lower grill.

Hello martinjc, Beautiful X!
I'm wondering if this is an '04 preview? I like the larger rear headrest, side turning signals and the clear corner. Martin, can you please give us a few interior pics and the specs of your X (horsepower, torque, etc.)? |

Congrats on your MDX, Why is there a Honda emblem and not Acura Emblem???
The reason is simple. The Acura brandname does not exist outside of North America (except for Hong Kong). It was created to compete with Lexus, which also didn't exist outside or North America till the last few years. It's all about marketing; all Acura and Lexus vehicles are sold as Hondas and Toyotas in the rest of the world, and rebadged for the N.American market. This is partly why the Japanese luxury brand names have a long long way to go before even getting close to attaining the worldwide prestige of brand names such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, etc. |

Larger head restraints are probably due to the Australian motor vehicle regulations. US DOT specifies amber side markers, so we will not get the clear ones that the rest of the world does. |
