| Any tips on removing wax, (actually Meguire's Gold which is a polymer) from the black trim? I've left it on too long and it's really set in place. Thanks. |

Another reason for using Zaino. This is not a problem when using Zaino products. |

P21S Total Auto Wash (a citrus degreaser), Wurth Citrus Degreaser, Wurth Tar Remover, Sonax Tar Remover and One Grand Tar, Wax and Gum Remover, OR Turtle Wax Tar and Bug remover and the most economical, peanut butter.
Finish off cleaners with a clay barring and Dawn wash.
If you still can not remove the wax, go to a detail shop and ask them, or do that first. End of subject IMHO. |

I guess when you have a few thousand posts you're entitled to give an arrogant reply, it seems to be a right of passage on the forum IMHO. If I wanted to go to a detailer I wouldn't of asked the question.
Thanks to those that responded. Subsequent to posting here I did a search on Autopedia and yes, peanut butter is recommended there frequently as well. It seems a lot of the profesional detailers use a product from 3M called tar and wax remover with good results. I also asked the detailer at my Acura dealer this morning what he would use and he said leather/vinyl cleaner. When I got home I tried some and it did work well.
I suspect there's no one product that that will remove the plethora of waxes, polymers, sealants etc that we use. Next time I'm going to try peanut butter, rubbing it on with a toothbrush and we'll see how that works. Thanks again for the replies. |

So the half dozen of products I listed counts for nothing? You could have 'called' a detailer first, but then you could not have racked up any posts yourself!

If anyone is still following this thread besides Dale here's what I did. I waxed my X today and inevitably ended up with wax on my rubber and vinyl trim and tried several things to remove it. I tried citris cleaners, 303, Armor All, Simple Green, peanut butter and leather cleaner.
The best success I had was using Lexol leather cleaner, applied with a soft tooth brush. It tool it off everything leaving no discoloration. Peanut butter worked but was messy (but cheaper) the others all worked to lesser degrees.
After cleaning the wax off the rubber door seals I dressed them with 303 to help prevent any drying out. Others on Autopedia have had success using different brand leather cleaners. Hope this helps someone else out. |

Seems like a lot of work and time to use that (wax) product. And some say Zaino takes too much work?
Like I said earlier in the thread, with Zaino this is not a problem. If I get some Z5 on the rubber or plastic trim it comes off very easy. |

I think the product I'm using is one of the harder ones to remove, I won't use it again. As far as Zaino, I'd try some if I knew were to get it in this country, I guess I just haven't tried to find it hard enough.
I'm going to spend the month of September vacationing in your country, can Zaino be purchased at any retail outlets? |

Not any retail outlet, here is there web site:
http://www.zainobros.com/files/info.htm
You could call them and ask if they have any dealers in the area you're visiting. |

From the Q&A on their web site:
Q: Where do I get Zaino? Is it in stores?
A: Zaino products are available directly from Zaino Bros' or from an Authorized Zaino distributor. To find out if there's a distributor in your area call Zaino Bros' at (732)833-8800 or e-mail Zaino. To order direct, simply print and fill out the order form, and mail it, along with a check or money order to the address shown on the order form. Your order will ship via UPS the same day it is received. |

I believe I read pouring boiling water all over the MDX will remove the wax.

May I be of assistance ? ;) :D
as a side note - Sal has no idea who is selling the goods up here in the land of the frozen north . . (nor does he ship to canada)
he appointed a master importer some years back . .and that fellow controls who and where in Canada . .
we all sell for the same price - some just offer really good customer service and many items beyond Zaino . . .
I can bravely state that as a zaino dist - i have the widest range of products available besides Zaino . . . at least in Canada - and most US guys dont carry the lines I do (afaik)
anyways - if i can help - dont be shy . . .

Hi Homer2,
I bought a bottle of z5 and zfx. Besides the high cost, what does zfx really do? Is zfx only used to speed up drying time or does it also have special qualities like enhancing protection or creating a better shine? |

For all you Dallas area members, I found a local distibutor here after calling Zaino. He's in Allen, TX and his name is Steve. Number is 972-743-9443.
It worked out great for me, since I only needed one bottle of Z6 and I didn't want to pay $7.95 shipping for on an internet order for a $9.95 product. |

It does both. That's the beauty of it. There are some that approach it in shine, but do not last as long. Others that last long (not that many) but have less of a shine.
Plus, as we stated, the only thing that builds up with repeated applications is the shine. No residue to remove down the road. |

BklynbMDX - yes, yes and yes . .
It speeds up the drying time . ..
It cures practically instantly (the bug bear of polymers) and allows multiple same session coats (3 per day)
It enhances the shine . . .
of course, Canadian zfx does even more - but i cant reveal that on a sit that can be viewed by americans . . . but a hint is OK - its in our beer . . . :D |
