I've looked through all the Zaino threads, but I keep finding some conflicting advice?
I just bought Z7, Z5 AND Z2...
I know I use Z7 to wash my (black) MDX down, but I'm confused,
should I apply Z5 first and then Z2 or since my MDX is only 2 weeks old can I just apply Z2?
Any help would be great! |

You can go either way but I would use the Z5 first. It has fillers that will help mask swirl marks. It also seems to add more "depth" to the finish. Z2 seems to provide the glossiest finish. You probably won't notice the difference either way but this is how I do it?
Do you also have Z6? I go over the finish with a detailer spray and a flannel cloth right after using either Z2 or Z5. IMHO it makes the finish that much shinier. If you don't have Z6 I can also recommend Meguiar's Detail spray. You can find it at Pep Boys and other fine automotive stores :-) |

| I agree though I wouldn't bother with more than one coat of Z5 - it's not necessary on a brand new car. Also agree that you should get some Z6. Great Stuff. I use it after washing to perk up the finish. I also apply the Zaino to black plastic trim and black pieces in grill and it keeps the plastic looking new. Give it a try, you will be pleased with results. |

| I use Z5 also, I applied it initially and I use it every 3rd coat of Zaino I apply. I use Z6 after every coat of Zaino and after every wash with Z7. Z6 also works great on the windshield, it acts like Rain-X. Even though your X is new I would recommend dawn wash and the clay bar, I picked up some debris and it makes the surface ultra smooth. |

What everyone above said. THis is what I do (I sent you you an email in responce to yours so I aplogize for repetition):
(1) Wash with Z7
(2) Dry with an electric leaf blower and towel dry whatever spots are left - use 100% white cotton towels
(3) Apply a two coats of Z5 and one coat of Z2, all mixed with ZFX - I let each coat dry at least 30 mins before I remove, again using 100% cotton towels.
(4) Apply z6
(5) Admire
Here are some pics of my results:

You will need to apply a coat of Z1 first. That is unless you have ZFX. If you have ZFX you can use that with Z2 or Z5 on the first coat. With black I recommend only using Z5 because the shine on black is better than with Z2. If you have not purchased Z2 don't, save your money and get ZFX. If you already have it use the Z2 on your other car.
Also I use a California duster about every other day. Takes only a few minutes and unless I have to drive in the rain I can go months between washes. I do a QD with Z6 (50% Z6, 50% water) when needed, about once a week.
No color lookes better on the MDX than Black IMHO if you keep it clean and shinny. |

That's what my wife told me last year: "The neighbors are going to think you are nuts".
Now on any Saturaday or Sunday morning you can see numerous other neighbors out with their blowers and not a leaf in sight. Only clean and shinny cars. |

| Alright I'm going to try the leaf blower. Is it quicker than the shammy? |

| I can dry my whole car in about 10 mins with very little, if any, water spots or streaks. C'mon - me and the eagle are nuts enough to do it. WHen I wake up early (around 5:30) to beging the full deatiling, I need to blow it with the garage doors shut. Yes... that says 5:30, as in am. With a baby girl, a dog and wife, that alone time is much needed. Ha Ha!!! |

Good advice. I'm to the point on my (black) vette where I only use Z5. I tried Z2 but I agree that straight Z5 on black is the way to go. |

Real detailing fanatics recommend not using a chamois. Can cause fine scratches.
When using the blower it makes the drying process much easier but will not completely dry your car. It does a good job of getting the water out of the cracks, grill, rims, and removes the big puddles of water on the car. You will have to use a towel (100% cotton, USA) to remove what is left behind. |

Same here - I have used only Z5 (have 4 coats on it) with Z6 after every wash. Here's how it looks |
