| I don't like how it sticks out of the mirror. |

| I wonder how the electrical will hook up? A nightmare of running wire to steering column??? |

| They sell these things for lots of cars. I like the concept, but these look kinda cheezy to me. |

Although I won't be getting these it would be a nice feature on future Acura's.
I have a hard time hearing the blinkers in the MDX and the steering wheel blocks my view of the blinking arrows in the dash. I'm assuming the driver can see these blink? |

The TSX has blinkers in the side mirrors. Strangely enough, I didn't see them in the new TL spy photos. Perhaps Acura will add this to the MDX in a year or two?
I'd prefer to go with true, integrated lights, rather than the add-ons. The add-ons look weird, and the wiring is a pain. |

| No drilling??? How the heck do you wire it? Wireless? Probably just some jerk who has gone around stealing reflectors off of kids bicycles. Allow 1 to 2 weeks delivery?...Why cause schools out right now and inventory is low?? I notice no local pickups? Why... need to make more money off of shipping? No refunds or exchanges.......hmmmmm? Also notice the picture in the dark....Shouldn't the turn signals on the front and back of the car be on at the same time as the part in mention?? |

The '04 Acura TSX has the turn signal indicator mounted flush in the outside rear view mirrors on both sides. Its a cool look and maybe an omen for the future???

Exactly what led me to do this....
I will post more detail later |

Wiring isn't that bad at all, I will post all the details soon. |

| And the next thing folks will want are HID's installed in the mirrors....just kidding. I like the lights in the mirrors! |

First post ... MDX is on the way.
Concerning the signal mirrors in the second picture ... I put a set on my (to be traded) Explorer, and on my Odyssey. I ordered them from Muth Mirror Systems. Installation is fairly simple ... takes a couple hours. All the needed information is included with the package ... exact instructions on how to remove all the necessary interior panels, as well as the exact location and color of the wires you need to tap into to get them running.
As for brightness, they are VERY bright to other traffic, and automatically adjust their brightness depending on the ambient light outside. From the inside, you can see them blinking .. but it's not bright enough to be annoying or distracting.
Unfortunately, they don't offer an MDX model ... yet. I emailed the company and told them that I was 99.9% sure the X mirrors are the same as the Odyssey/Pilot mirrors they offer now ... with the exception of the X's being heated. They replied saying that they'd verify that, and if it's true they'd offer a heated version of the mirror in the near future. I plan on getting a set when they are available.
I'd be intrested to know where the ones in the picture came from. |

They came from Muth. http://www.kwmuth.com/
I am working with them to document the differences for the X install. They did prototype a heated version for me and they should be able to make it widely available soon.
More updates after I hear back from them, I want to give them a chance to respond first.
Bottom line, look for these to be generally available soon!
I am trying to set up a group buy after they get a production run. |

| Hmm, guess that's what the sales rep meant in his email by "we're currently investigating this issue." Cool deal. |

My contact at Muth said they heated mirrors for the MDX is going to engineering for production.
No word yet on a group buy or preorder discount.
The install was fairly easy although it did take a couple hours.
I posted instructions for removing door panels and the mirror in[URL=http://www.acuramdx.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=37]Installation Instructions and Tips /URL].
After you get past that, you pull the wire through the rubber boot that pass the other door wires. Then on each side of the car you can find the wire that has the turn signal on it and just tap it.
The wire is coded Green with blue stripe double ring for LH and is located just above the fuse block. Green with yellow stripe double ring for RH and it is behind the glove box.
When the product is available I will be happy to provide more detail on my install. Or if you have any other questions feel free to post them. |

Good to hear! I'd been checking their site for updates for the past few days. Thanks for the heads up!!:D
Question since you have a "beta" copy of them ... do they have the bluish tint like my factory 03 mirrors have, or are they more of a gold tint like the other Muth mirrors I've owned? Just curious. |

Not blue but it doesn't look gold to me.
They do not use the "blue tint" dichroic glass as in the Honda/Acura OEM mirror as they use a silver chrome mirror. This is because they are the OEM for GM and they spec chrome mirror glass. According to Muth this is the most expensive mirror glass but it costs them less to have one standard for all mirrors.
I kinda liked the dichroic mirror but the chrome didn't add any notable night driving glare like I thought it would.
The retail looks like it will be $269, still no word on group discount. |

I agree, I like the concept, but not the way their product looks. |

Yes, that is the what they are working on getting into production. They have non heated available for the Pilot/Odyssey which is the same mirror.
They made a prototype of the heated that I have installed and they heat up just fine. |
