I really hate all morons that double-space park..... - Click HERE for Original Thread

On the way back to work from lunch today, I decided to stop by the bank. So I got behind this Mercedes-Benz CL500. As we both pull into the bank, there were 2 open spaces right in front of the bank. This moron decided to take the last 2 spots and double-park right in front of the bank. :soapbox:

I know it is a really nice car and all. And if you don't want people to scratch or dent your car, then park the damn thing way far out and walk your ass in. People can careless if anyone tripple-space park the car out there. But it is definitely a big "no-no" to double-park your car right in front of any store, regardless of what car it is. How stupid is that? That is just asking for trouble. :14: :14: :14: :9:

It was so freaking tempting to pull my P.O.S daily beater Camry and park it couple inches right next to his driver side. Let's see how he likes it when he has to get his punk ass in through the passenger side. :p

Some people, I tell you, just has absolutely no common sense or courtesy at all.

I hear what you're saying.. I hate all the idiots that don't do the right thing when it comes to parking..I had my X for 2 weeks and went to Target to get a new wash bucket. I parked way-way out in the lot, one side to a curb...automatic protection and the other side some one could park next to it, I was there in the early morning lot pritty much empty. I left my 14 year old son in the car cuz he didn't want to go in. I come out and there sitting right next to me was a X5. I was so pissed! All the Fu#$ing spaces in the whole damn lot and the moron parks next to me. I know it was a nice car and I know I don't own the lot, but God! give me a break. Find another place to park it when there is a thousand FU#$ing spots to pick from.

I would have parked behind him and boxed him in until I would have finished.

Agreed, especially since you had your beater car with you.

Is a rust bucket GMC S-10 Jimmy. I often DO park it LEGALLY in the "2/3 of a space" leftover when somebody double parks in a stupid manner.

I agree that if you want to park "longwise" out in the boonies you have every right, but people should use some common sense in the "up close" zone...

Another pet peeve: lots with too many handicapped spots. I never park in 'em even when I could (my dad was paralyzed and I have elderly relative with 'placards') . Some lots have 300 spaces and the 30 best ones are all "blue chaired" off. If I see an untagged car in the space I have flagged down the police to ticket 'em...

One more: the giant "semi-mobile" cart corrals. Especially in the winter when they plow these things all end up in WAY to close to the entrance. -- HELLO they aren't needed six steps from the entrance. I've used my beater car to shove em back where they belong more than a few times...

geez...all this parking rage... :2:

the X5 probably wanted to protect his car too...I doubt if the X5 dinged your car.

I park as far away from everyone as I can...never take two spots.

As careful as you try to be, dings will happen. Oh well.

Ten or more years ago, this happened to me: Just as I was ready to park nose-to-the-curb (the way the lines were painted) at the Post Office, a guy in a big white Caddy pulls in and parks parallel to the curb, effectively blocking 5 slots. Before he got out of his car, I pulled in nose-to-the-curb within inches of his front bumper. He glared at me as he got out of his car, but didn't say a word. As he was walking into the PO, another guy parked the same way I did, behind him. Then this other guy (a stranger) and I stood beside the Caddy and struck up a conversation. When the Caddy driver came out, he got into his car and slammed the door, but didn't say a word. The other guy and I talked for another 5 minutes, then each went in (separately) to the PO to conduct our business. We both finally "unparked" and left. I suspect the Caddy guy was cured! (Ya gotta do what ya gotta do!)

I do not think you EVER have the right to hog two spaces - its rude!:28: Period!! Park in the boonies to protect your car, but put it in a real (single) space. The epitome of rude is people who act like they own the joint:rolleyes:

Parking in two spaces, even if far out in the lot, can easily attract unwanted attention. There will still be those people who will intentionally park their beater (usually) right next to you, or maybe even intentionally inflict damage. I try to park away from the crowds, but never too far away or in a way that would attract extra attention. Parking out by where the store employees are required to park is sometimes a good bet. Parking at the end of a row or next to a landscaping curb, crowding the edge a little bit also works pretty well. Among dozens of other "rules," try not to park next to 2-door cars (longer doors), vehicles that likely have children as riders, vehicles that themselves have lots of damage. In other words, pretty much everything. Unfortunately, even parking in a deserted area seems to somehow "validate" that area as a good parking area, and I find myself surrounded by other vehicles when I come back. 14+ months and so far no dents. (Knock on plastic wood).

When are they gonna invent a force field for the car. I'd take that as an option.

Park in the boonies if you want to take up 2 stalls. Tuan Le, if you had the room you should have parked along the driver side door. frostyra, your story rocks.

Been there done that. We think a lot alike. :) I figure it this way: there are two spaces and two cars so it's OK to do, right?

But boy it is tempting to use the car key for something other than the ignition... especially on a new $100k car owned by a %&# like that guy. Never done it, but the thought has crossed my mind many times.

I love frostyra's story above too. That's just perfect.
