I finally bought a digital camera, so we drove to Riverside and took pictures of my MDX. I had to do some editing on most pics because there's a cheap red car and a trash can in the pics. There's one pic with this guy walkin by but I might just leave it (I was too excited to thoroughly wax it).

Sorry, I was trying to find the pic of her in that white dress and her gold blond hair but I can't find it. I would ask her to model for my car but.. |

| Nice! I like the white X myself. It is really easy to keep clean...or at least it always looks cleaner than it is after 6 days without a bath. Congrats.:2: |

| Excalibur, THAT'S the Marilyn I remember (I noticed that the white Marilyn in most of the pics didn't have the small waist that I recalled). |

Hi KingBmdxFLIP22:
___Can you post a pic of the rear fender flare underneath where it butts up against the inner fender shield? I installed TW OEM flares on my own and simply stretched the OEM rubber grooved seal over the top of the flares. The rubber seal originally sealed the inner plastic fender liner to the fenders metal lip. This seal wasn’t in the instructions to keep but that seal sure makes a difference as far as getting road grime out of under the fender shield. I just wanted to know what your dealer did is all?
___Secondly, if you ever want to paint those flares (I highly recommend it ;)), your local body shop has some of that thin super double stick tape to reapply to the inside of all the flares where needed and the 3 coat paint and seal shouldn’t cost anything over $150.00 for the entire package of flares.

Welcome KingBmdxFLIP22,
Those are some nice pics. Your X looks very classy. All you need now is to add the Hood Ornament that EXCALIBUR posted. :4: |

::Brain Dead:: Sorry, I understood some of what you said, but can you please explain what exactly do you want me to take pictures of? Sorry, I think I will leave the fenderflares alone; I want a more 2tone look. :32: |

| Hmm, I was wondering what other accessory should I add to my MDX. I don't want too many things on it. I'm thinking of getting the rear tailgate spoiler; to me, its a lot of money for just a sportier look. Any suggestions? or opinions? Thanx ~BJ:2: |

Thanx. Yea, I've always wanted gold trim on a white MDX; Gold handles handles on an MDX would be wierd :creeplook :blingblin |

KingBmdxFLIP22,
I love the look of your White MDX! Now that they're coming out with the Aspen Pearl White I'm thinking of going with a white X myself, especially since I think that the revised 2004 rear lights would look nicer on a light vehicle instead of BLACK (my original choice for my MDX).
A couple of questions if I may. If you get that rear spoiler (I'm leaning toward it myself once I check out the 2004s) would you just consider the matching white one or, perhaps, a black one? You've gone for a two-tone look with some of the accessories and I would think that a black spoiler might be a nice rear accent. What's your thoughts on this?
I'll get around to more questions once I've gotten more information regarding this new white (Aspen Pearl) and the availability of accessories for it (either matching or contrasting.)
Once again, great job! |

KingBmdxFLIP22,
One other question I forgot to ask...
Are your fender flares, etc. the standard dark grey that you can get from either the dealer or Hondaacuraworld, com or did you have them painted black as a special order?
They look great but it's a little hard for me to tell if they are dark grey or black.
Thanks. |

Hey, thanx. I wanted the ASPEN PEARL WHITE not just a plain white:( . Yea, the 2004 is reaally nice too. If I decide on a rear spoiler, I'm sticking with my 2-tone look and will buy a black one. My fender flares are the regular grey.
I will post interior pics when I get the right shots and have time to hook up the X-Box to it. |

KingBmdxFLIP22,
Thanks for the response. One more question. What options, if any, did you have dealer installed, and which ones did you do yourself aftermarket? I'm thinking there are a few things (like the wood steering wheel and the towing package - including coolers) that I prefer not to tackle myself in case of any problems.
On the rear spoiler situation - although the information is out on the 2004 MDX there seems to be a bit of confusion since a "rear spoiler" is mentioned in a couple of places. And since I'll probably be ordering one "sight unseen" I'll wait to see how the 2004 looks before adding the spoiler. And I'll also use a black spoiler if I decide on the Aspen Pearl.
Thanks for sharing. |

I'm sure that spoiler will look good. On the options; the dealer installed mostly everything listed in my signature because I had it with my order. I only put the gold exhausts, gold plates, wood shifter, and BSM's myself which I ordered this year(basically not even real installation). Park Ave Acura told me it's around $130 for them to install BSM's (supposed 1hr 30min.) when it would only take me 45mins.
I had the aftermarket Rear Entertainment System (TV) installed by the mechanic at PC Richards.
I will be ordering Cold Air Intakes which I prob. will install myself.. |

Thanks, KingBmdxFLIP22 .
I'm thinking of having the dealer install most of the extras since I believe that's probably the only place I might have a bit of negotiating room - the accessories - on a 2004 at this time. |

Hi Rfowkes:
___Given the 02’s on the lots and the 03’s when first introduced were still fetching MSRP and MSRP + numbers from just about everywhere (Texas and Florida not withstanding) and now the 03’s can be found for as much as $3K under MSRP, why not consider waiting a month or two if possible? There are a lot more lux SUV’s to choose from then even a year + ago (XC90, Toureg, FX35/45, a new RX, and even Murano if anyone were to consider a non-Lux SUV in the mix) so MSRP may be a number that your particular dealer is quoting for a pre-order but in a month or two, they may be demanding a whole lot less ... I can’t guarantee anything of course but this is the year you will be seeing $500 to $1000 over invoice and purchasing at MSRP now may make you regret the purchase simply because of the purchase date in two or three months is all. The side curtains are an absolutely huge addition to the 04’s but the wheels and rear light treatments may actually drive some more conservative prospective buyers away making 04 pricing that much more competitive?

Thanks for the advice, xcel. Unfortunately, I will need a new car by the end of November or mid-December, so I'm going to try to queue up as quickly as possible - in fact as soon as my dealer gets his final pricing on the 2004's.
While what you say is, of course, one scenario, I'm of the opinion that any price reductions from MSRP on 2004 Acuras will be at least 6 months away. I've looked closely at each of the other cars you've mentioned and, quite frankly, I don't like them as much as the MDX, all things considered (and several of them are much more expensive once you load them up as I will be doing with the MDX.)
The addition of the side curtain air bags is a major plus for an already very safe vehicle and the question of whether the rear lights look better or worse is a very subjective one at best. And even though this is not a major model change there are some significant improvements in the '04 that lead me to think that the new MDXs, once they arrive, will be more, rather than less, desirable.
I appreciate your trying to save me a few dollars (that never hurts), but looking at the big picture I will be pulling the trigger on the deal as soon as the dealer loads the gun.
;)
The only thing that I'm now wrestling with is whether to go with the Black, or opt for the new Aspen Pearl White (I love what KingBmdxFLIP22 did with his and might want to add a NY "twin.)" |
