Hi All,
Going to Yosemite this weekend.
Any recomendations on what to do?
This will be my first time there. We are staying in Wawona (Southern part of Yosemite). Going with a few friends and my little family (wife and 22 month old daughter). We like to hike and bike.
Climbing Half Dome sounds exiciting but daugther may likely stay at the bottom with wife. How long would this adventure take?
Should we take a guided tour or tour on our own?

Hi Emerald,
I don't know how far Wawona is from the Yosemite Valley, but if you're proficient enough of a hiker and as long as you start early enough, then you can make it to half dome and be back at the Valley all in one day. If not, what you can do is, hike up to Little Yosemite Valley and camp there overnight, then head up to Half Dome and make your way down to the base camp afterwards.
The latter is what my brother and I did a few years back. We didn't wann be rushed since there's are a couple of waterfalls we wanted to spend some time at. We had lunch at Nevada Falls and it was absolutely gorgeous. Had we wanted to do the Half Dome trek all in one day from the Valley, then we wouldn't have been able to spend too much time at the falls at all.
Do some google searches too, I'm sure you'll find plenty about one day excursions in Yosemite. Good luck and have fun!! |

i been there only once for about an hour or two. It was dark when i got there so i couldnt see the famous biggg trees that should be there. however i saw a poster. there was a car ripped off by a bear who was searching for food.
The lesson. Dont leave any food in your MDX or any car. |
