Ford F-150 Lightning is the fastest production pickup truck in the world say Guiness which hitted 147MPH (as you can see under). Wait until Dodge sells its RAM SRT-10 (10 or 12 forgot) and it's gonna be a wild battle. http://www.canadiandriver.com/news/030818-2.htm

I can't think of a much scarier thing on the road than a truck like that going 147! May I never be anywhere near one of them!

So is that photo real? It looks odd that the license plate is nearly in focus while the rest of the truck is blurred.

I'm pretty sure that's the actual top speed. The Dodge SRT-10 has 505 hp. the '03 SVT Lightning does 0-60 in 5.2 which is really quick. The SRT-10 is said to have a top speed of 150+mph...
I'll post more about this in the mornin

...The new F-150 is out so I read that the next gen. Lightning will be out in early 2005. Dodge's SRT-10 will have a price in the low $40,000 range to The Lightning's $33,000. The Lightning's goal is obviously to beat the SRT-10 and the Lightning might pump out 550hp! The concept engine for this had a 0-60 in the upper 4sec. range. It'll be a while till we find out everything for sure tho.

Who will want a truck this quick??? If you want to be fast and the furious, GET A SPORTS CAR!!!! High performance truck looks like sh*t IMO.

Hi CaptainMDX:

___Have you ever hauled Landscape supplies in a sports car? Now how about hauling landscape supplies and kicking the sh*t out of most sports cars? And to do it for less money in the process ;)

___As for the looks, I hope they make one in a 4DR as I not only like the looks of P/U’s, I would consider purchasing a Lightning for myself … that is if it gets 25 mpg + on the hwy :D

___Good Luck

I don't like pick-ups because I wouldn't need one. I just read about them somewhere...

Until you had to either stop or turn, of course! Hodgekiss rear axles, low roll centers, and high centers of gravitiy make for great fun when you try to do either (or worse, both simultaneously)... Sports cars are about far more than just going fast in a straight line on billard table smooth pavement.

Hi Mogur:

___Trucks are also about far more than going fast in a straight line on billiard table smooth pavement.
As is the case when you have to take them off the road for a bit of utility work … or just plain fun. The sports car needs a tow truck to come pick up the pieces because its suspension components are now strewn all over whereas the truck is, well, still having fun ;) Did I mention it can apparently paste many sports cars and all for just $33,000 from what has been posted above?

___Good Luck
