My wife and I have been shopping for a new vehicle. MDX is top on our list.
There are a few things we are not crazy about, and some really nice features that other vehicles have, that we wish the MDX had.
We will probably wait for the 04 models to come out, before making the purchase.
Here is a wish list, on what we would like to see on the 2004's
(just a wish list now)
- Get rid of the wood trim!
or atleast an option to not have it. We both don't like it, at all.
If it has the brushed aluminum trim the TSX and new TL has, we will be much happier.
- Smart Card Key System.
Boy, have seen this on others, and we really, really like it.
- Adaptive cruise control
- Small refresh
Maybe new grill, bumpers, something to change the look alittle
Probably not going to see a model redesign till 06, so it would be nice if Acura keeps the MDX fresh
Something similar that was done from the 01 to 02 TL.
The syle has gone pretty much unchanged since 01, give us alittle something different
- New Seats
The TSX seats were sooo much more comfortable then the MDX seats. Please Acura, upgrade the quailty of the leather, and have better seats for the 04. Your top of the line SUV

Main thing I'm hoping for is side curtain airbags that Consumer Reports says will be standard on the '04.
Would also like to see, but don't expect, a more effective Vehicle Stability Assist system.
Finally, whatever changes caused the NHTSA frontal impact ratings to be downgraded to 4 stars should be changed back.
Wouldn't mind the option for a little more chrome, either. |

Get rid of the stupid fan for the climate control & replace it with a knob for adjustment up & down.
Add one touch up & down windows
Make it more quiet ('03 still is noisier than my '01 Lexus RX 300, but it is quieter than my '01 MDX)
Improve the quality of the leather & interior overall

That would only makes our worth less ... but seriously:
Move sunroof switch to sunroof (of all places!)
Take regular gas
Dead pedal
Better leather (as per above)
Fix the wet inside window "feature"
2 piece tailgate?
Sunroof that's quiet enough to actually use
PS and Tranny cooler as per above - what would that really cost if done when the car was built??

Here are my requests for the perfect MDX
1) HID's
2) Massage the front end.
3) Front seats - Larger with better leather
4) Sunroof switch (put it on the roof damit!)
5) larger gas tank
6) decrease wind noise at high speed. My 03 still has more than most vehicles I have driven.
7) Mid-grade or a little better mileage |

Snook, I thought from your post on your TL site that your wife is loving the Infiniti. You didn't mention in that post you were even considering the MDX.
Another question... who will you buy your aftermarket parts from? :D |

Yea, I was thinking about that; they need an opinion box or something...They should take suggestions from MDX owners, maybe even just a poll that they would supply! |
