wow. $165 for five short pieces of battery cable.

I got a set of the similar cables couple weeks ago. According to couple of the shops, these will improve the electric flow, hence a slightly brighter on your lights and clear sound on your audio system. Got them for alot less ofc.

Wish I had thought of it first. I would cut my overhead and advertised on ebay and made a killing.

Did I hear someone say :bsflag:

I think i read an article in some tuner magazine about a similar product. The product advertised that it improved HP and other stuff. I saw the dyno done by the magazine it showed like a 3 hp increase but I think its bs.

Well, the name is HYPEr Ground System....
Warzau
Wonder how much a SUPER hyper ground system would cost?

Would you give me $165 for my Uber Grounding System?

0 guage, baby!

Do you think it will work on the MDX. Anyone has done this kind of upgrade to his car?
manus1980
It won't improve performance at all. That was the conclusion derived over at the CL forum. A better ground could benefit your electronics but that is it.

My understanding is these are often used in highly modified older cars where original grounds were removed, etc.
In stock configuration, the original grounds can be inspected for corrosion or loose connections, and corrected accordingly. Beyond that there is no reason to change or add anything.

Does this work on MDX?

sushix,
I don't know but $20 to ship!!
Northern_MDX
I have seen the same product for MDX on eBay, although
currently it's not being auctioned.

The best way is to confirm that with the seller. Maybe he has a
MDX version in stock.

I agree the shipping is a bit too steep.

...which reminds me I should go monsterize mine soon. I've got some leftover 4 ga and 8 ga cables and can probably use them for the ground cable between the car body and motor block (was "re: ground cable" in another thread here a few weeks ago). Mine won't be as fancy as the Mugen one with many different cables for various locations but hopefully something a little better than the stock one that came with the MDX (one new fat cable soon and that's probably it for me).

Actually with that many ground cables as the Mugen one, I think some here will think it looks like a real nice mess of ground loops!! But it probably doesn't matter since it's not related to car audio anyways but this is just a general electrical grounding of the motor/vehicle. That Mugen probably may not do much, if any, but can try for fun anyways...

I suppose if you have 'tons' of electronics added to your vehicle, and no good grounding scheme, it might have some value.
Other than that....aluminum is not even an exceptional electrical conductor, but for that purpose is probably ok. Copper would be better but would corrode and need periodic cleaning over time.
sushix
I know the shipping is expensive but you know they really don't make much from it. Last time I check the price for these ground wire was around $40.

I currently have a Car Theater/Game System in my car. I have this problem with my headrest monitors. When I turn on my PSX system my headrest monitors will act funny with ripple screens. I am hoping the ground wire can correct this problem.

This ripple display is probably more of an EMI/RFI/shielding issue than a grounding issue. Have you tried the usual troubleshooting steps involving thicker-shielded (video) cables, ferrite coils/clamps, aluminum foils, etc?

I have a bridge in Brooklyn that I do not use much anymore, but it has a high traffic potential. I commissioned a study to determine petential profit from turning it into a toll bridge. According to this study the bridge can make a profit, net after expenses, of over $50,000 per day.

As I no longer need this bridge I will let go for the bargin price of only $49,999.

I also have some waterfront property in Arizona if anyone is interested. Just e-mail me and I am sure we can come to an agreement.

G

PS. If there is sufficient interest I can also obtain High Effeciency Ground Systems and give you a bargin on these.

I was there when they did the installation. They did use good thick-shield cables. I think this is either a battery issue or electric current issue.

If it's the battery or ground issue, then maybe lets try a couple of items (not in any order) if you have time...
- Ground the video player directly to the car battery to test (thick wire temporarily out the door to under the hood for tests).
- Ground the 12Vdc to 110Vac inverter box directly to the battery/alternator area (thick wire temporarily out the door... like above)
- Disconnect the 12Vdc to 110Vac inverter (if any) and plug the PSX to the wall (110V) in your garage. Maybe this inverter is the naughty one.
- Temporarily remove the PSX box from the current location and put it further away from all the video/etc signal cables.
- Or use/borrow a video amplifier box (1 input and a couple of video outputs) to test. The video signal should be stronger this way.
- Might also need a few different items or combination of items including the ferrite stuff to solve this...

Thanks for the suggestion. BTW I email the seller and got the reply. The seller claim the wire only fit on TSX RSX TL and RL. That is strange because the description say "Universal fit for all cars".

MANY e-Bay sellers do this same thing. Sellers understand that a "universal" kit sounds bad. So they are marketing this item to you the "Acura" owner....AKA sucker. I bet the same seller has BMW, Honda, and Toyota kits. But he is likely selling one product.

Now this is a personal testimonial. In my 1993 Camry, I have a very decent aftermarket stereo system. When the bass hit at loud volumes, I noticed the headlights would dim a lot. I decided to make my own "hyper ground system". I had some 12 gauge black wire in my shed. I located every factory ground point in my engine compartment. Then removed each ground one at a time, used a wire brush to clean the surface metal, then replaced the factory grounds and the new ground wires I made to length. Now my headlights only barely dim, and here's the cool part. I could have sworn that my car felt quicker off of the line during acceleration. My wife drove it after I had completed the work (she had no idea what I was doing) and after she drove it, she asked if I had done something to increase horsepower. True story!

I think you are probably right about the kit. I email a different seller selling the mugen ground wire and he claim the cable will work on all cars including MDX. I think Mugen only make one kind of ground wire. I think I'll order one and try it out.
eurohazard
sushix, do shop around and get the best price. Let us know how it goes when you install it.
