Without getting into heavy duty MDX mods for a good sub enclosures here is an alternative, and a quality product against under $100 sub-tubes.
Same manufacture that makes foundation cracking HT subs in the $1000 to $6000 price range.

Dale,

I own an awesome aftermarket sub that I've used in my last five vehicles. Its a real easy install/de-install in all vehicles.

I took the MDX in to have it installed and they did try to install it but it just wouldn't work with the Bose 2 ohm system. I'm not sure these tube-type subs you've found would work either, unless they're 2-ohm compatible.

I'd have to say my number one (and perhaps ONLY) real complaint with the MDX is the Bose system because
A) it isn't very good on it's own but mostly
B) because it is so difficult and/or expensive to modify or upgrade.

I thought I had it all worked out, but the Bose ruined my plans.
