Finished the 6002i install per the help on this site & it's awesome. With my sub & XPlod amp combo this thing literally sounds like I spent at least a grand plus. Amazing improvement for so little work, I can't wait til tomorrow to give a few audiophiles a listen, I'm blown away by the "bang for the buck" of these upgrades.

Daffy,
Any inclination to add an amp to the 4 infinity's? Or are you satisfied enough with the improvements so far?? |

None. I'm definitely done. The infinity's sooo clean up the sound, the highs & mids are strong & clear. I had to re-dial my gain & boost on the sub to adjust for the clarity of the Infinity's, my audio settings completely changed. Sound is crisp, powerful & the sub combo is perfect. IMHO to do more is obsession or hardcore audiophile. This is the 2nd best car audio sound I've had - the best being a $2K + alpine setup (w/o labor cost) I had in a stang a few yrs back.
Infinity install took 45 mins taking my time to be carefull & having a beer, cake walk.

Total cost:
$150 for Infinity speakers (4) including shipping @ simplycheap.com.
- no install cost, did them myself, very very easy
Sony amp & sub I took out of my BMW I sold so they are a carry over, can't remember the price, it was a circuit city sale about a year ago.
- install was $80, I did some work & had some done.
Turbowire connectors for the door speakers were about $12.
Overall very cheap. |

...if the 04s increased amp power & neodynium magneted speakers are as NOTICEABLE as the Infinty & sub upgrades that SO MANY MDXers have undertaken -- my guess is NOT, as I suspect the FAT OLD MEN that Acura lets handle the dealings with Bose have EARDRUMS OF TIN!
Sad sad sad -- while other manufacturers wake-up and smell the coffe that the Bose 'emperor' "has no clothes" Acura continues to prop up this SHAM of a company. |
