How do I transfer "My Favorites" web pages from my portable IE to my desktop?
Thanks, as always. . . |

| If you are using IE6, you can choose File-Import and Export... and it will run a wizard that will allow you to export your Favorites to a file that can then be imported to the other machine: |

Hi LaborLitigator:
___For Windows 2000 or XP Home/Pro on your laptop, open up Windows Explorer and map to the directory that Windows 2K or XP is installed onto. C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name Here\Favorites is the most likely place. In the right pane, you should see all the directories and individual favorites links you have previously created. Just copy those that you want and paste them across the network into the Favorites directory on your PC. If you are running Windows ME or 98 SE, your Favorites are in the Windows directory. Check C:\Windows\Favorites. You can copy them to a floppy(s) as well if you are not attached to a network.

laborlitigator,
Go to Documents and Settings. Click on your user folder. In there, click on the Favorites icon and send it to your Desktop. Good luck.:29: |

| I assume you are talking about the favoriites which are housed in the "Shell Favorite Folder" on the hard disk? You can do a search and find the "favorites" folder, which you can then copy to a disk to install on another PC in the equivalent favoriites folder on the C: drive. My favorites are located in the :\documents & settings\administrator dirertory. |
