Does anyone know what is the replacement bulb by PIAA for the fog bulbs on the 03 MDX ? I know there is a memeber back in New York that has changed all their bulbs. I hope you see this posting and reply !

FYI:
I am changing all the interior bulbs with Polarg M-4's. It will blow you away how nice they look. Get rid of those YELLOWISH oem bulbs.
I am changing the Bulbs in the Rear latch, there are two of them. Bulb: Polarg M-24.
I am also changing the licence plate bulbs and glove box. It takes the Polarg M-4's also.
Finally, I am changing the headlights with PIAA Extreme White Plus "9006" bulbs that look more like HID's. I have a Acura CL Type S with HID and these yellowish bulbs are killing me !

These are very inexpensive upgrades that will improve the looks (esp. the interior) of your car. I am not 21 looking for the "BLUEish" light look, I am very conservative and the difference is night and day. The headlights are a different choice and story.....Just wanted to share for those who maybe interested.

Thanks Manus 1980. Is this for the fogs ? If so, thanks so much ! Are the 9006 PIAA 115 watt bulbs ok for OEM head light bulb replacement ? Should I be concerned about wattage ? The manual says 51 watt bulbs for head lights......!
Your feedback would be instrumental !

I use to run some PIAA 5000k in the low beams. They are straight from Japan without a word of English and are compatible with both 9005 and 9006. I think the bulbs are 130watts and they burn extremly hot. I could feel the warmth of the headlight lenses after a long drive. They didn't cause any problems at all even after extended use. I highly recommend if you want HIDs but don't want to spend $300+

115w is wait to much. It will burn the wires. The max I would go is 80w. I have Eaglite bulbs on my TL and they are really white and last a long time for 1/4 of the price of PIAAs. People have asked if they are HIDs because the the closely match my HIDs. You can get Eaglites at www.midnightmoose.com quick service also..

On the 2002 the fogs are the same as the low beams 9006 bulbs. I've been using the Piaa Ion Plasma 2500k available thru Japan market only. They are excellent bulbs but burn out much to fast. I just went thru my second set at $80 a pair, seems to get only 8-12 months of light with alot of evening driving. I just bought a pair of the Sylvania high performance silver-star bulbs for about $22 a bulb. I'll keep you guys up-to-date on how I like them, hope their life is longer!

P.S. - I was running about 25-35 hours a week. I bet most people don't run the fogs for that length of time.

Gentlemen:

Up until now, I've been running "converted" Phillips BlueVision 9005 bulbs in my fogs, lows, and highs. Specifically with the fogs, I found the 9005's at 65 watts to run quite warm. I recently converted my fogs to DRL's and replaced them with Phillips BlueVision 9006 bulbs. Since the DRL's run all day when driving, I didn't want to chance any thermo-nuclear meltdown.

Q: The Acura OEM 9006 fogs and lows ran at 51 watts, while the Acura OEM 9005 highs ran at 65 watts. I hear you guys are running bulbs at 80, 100, and even 115 watts. Is this safe to do without changing the wiring harnesses? Isn't this just asking for some kind of trouble in the long run? Inquiring minds want to know.

I have had the same set of 5000k in my low beams and then my high beams for 2 years now no problems. I also had the PIAA 2500k in my fogs for about 2 years now.

So Manus: It is OK with me to run PIAA 9006's in the low beam that are 115 watts, as well as the fog's ?
Thanks again....

Hasn't caused any problems on my X and I have had several occasions where I drove 4-7 hours straight at night with the lights running the entire time. PIAA is a big company and not going to risk their 35+ year reputation selling products that will destroy your headlights.

I'm interested in the interior lights. Where do you get them?

Also, are they just brighter and more white looking?

Thanks!

MDXor: The way it looks, is the way it should have come from the factory ! Classic, NOT ghetto as much seem to think ! The bulbs are navy blue to the naked eye, but once in......good bye oem yellowish color.
Take a flat screwdriver, pry off the plastic covers and simply pull out the oem bulb and replace it ! That simple and quick ! The licence plate took a little more patience. The rear latch and rear light in the ceiling are slight different. I mentioned the number in my previous post ! ;)

Is anyone interested in getting yellow 2500K PIAA fog light bulbs? I am looking to see if my friend in Japan can ship me a bunch (only if I have enough interest).

I currently have them on my X and love them, has lasted me 2.5 years already (same set of bulbs).

I replaced the fogs with PIAA Spark Blue 7500k bulbs to match up to my HID's which are the bluish violet 8000k wavelength. The bulbs match real well spectrum-wise, but the foglight output pales in comparision to the HID's. The output drops off a bit compared to 5100k, but compared to the oem halogens they are still much brighter. My interior bulbs have all been replaced with PIAA xtreme whites except the doors which have the PIAA led bulbs. The only bulbs I have been unable to find a replacement for are the vanity mirror bulbs. I used the PIAA xtreme white 5100k bulbs in my wife's TL to match the factory HID's

What would the cost be? I'm not that happy with the Sylvania compared to the Piaa's. I would consider building a stock for the right cost?

You guys may want to try out this:

http://216.82.69.117/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=POLG-PY-HB4

Polarg yellow series HB4/9006 for $59

It works pretty good and look compatible to PIAA's yellow ion. I just replace the stock fog bulbs with these Polarg yellow.
