Gordon Biersch 'Marzen' is my standby. I like Sam Adams, Michelob, and Heiniken now and then. Coors light when the above are not available. I have about 1 bottle a week, and yet I am so selective....

Probably drink as much soda as beer, which is not much. And then it's got be root beer. Have found no substitute yet for the old A&W drive-ins with the frosted mugs of RB!

I don't drink beer at all - but IBC root beer is very close to the A&W frosty mugs. The canned A&W is terrible!

Modello Negra with my Mexican food. Sapporo or Kirin with my Sushi, Karl Strauss light amber with my American food and Tsingtao with my Chinese food.

I've never been able to understand one thing about beer selection.

Why is it that whenever you ask anyone what beer they like, you always get some exotic answer, but in reality the best selling beer in America for longer than I've been alive has always been Budweiser?

I drink Budweiser, not because it's cheap, or readily available, but simply because I think it tastes best. I simply don't understand the reluctance of everyone to admit they like it. What's the stigma all about? Why is it that the beer you drink has to be thick, dark, and taste like mud to indicate you are a person of substance?

The problem gets worse as you progress up the social stratum. The nicer the restaurant, the less likely they are to have Budweiser--the best selling beer of all time! Oh well, I guess my motto will simply have to read: you can take the boy out of the lower classes, but you can't take the low class out of the boy.

In the words of Will Ferrell (SNL) playing Harry Carry, "if the moon were made of spare ribs, I'd eat it. And I'd wash it down with a tall, cold bottle of Budweiser."

Don't drink alcohol, but sure do enjoy non-diet Dr. Pepper, root beer, and ginger ale ('specially Vernor's).

Whatever is in YOUR fridge.......:D :D
New MDXer
Guiness.

I mostly favor the German/Bavarian Hefe-Weiss beers.
Franziskaner is the one usually stocked.
However, I also like Ayinger and sometimes Paulaner if they're out at the store.

I also like Belgian Abbey-Styled ales.

In the fridge currently:
Franziskaner
Ayinger
Maredsous 10
Belhaven St. Andrews
Lawnmower Man (St. Arnold's)
Full Sail Pale Ale
Fat Tire
Don De Dieu
La Fin Du Monde
Guiness (another favorite)
Bass Ale
Kirin Ichiban (for sushi!)
Rogue's Shakespeare Stout
Pilsner Urquell
Lindeman's Framboise

And for the company that comes over and snubs thier nose at the above:
Michelob
Bud Light
Coors Original

I don't really drink alot, but love trying lots of different beers. There's so much variety......especially when compared to wine.

Usually Heineken, Amstel or Sapporo.

If only domestic is available, probably Miller GD or Coors.

Unlike others, will not settle for Bud, never liked Bud and will never drink Bud - could care less if they are the 'King of beers' and have the best selling brand in the world. They do have the most creative ads tho . . .

. . . Guiness (another favorite), Bass Ale . . .

:D When I was a wee lad, my older brothers caught me drinking, so in order to set me straight, they made me drink a pint of Guinness. I was in the lavvy all night long.
As I grew older, a pint of Bass was my prefered drink. New Year's in Scotland is a big deal, much the same way Christmas is here, and drinking is a huge part of the social scene there, not so much as a "party" in the Coors Lite commercial sense, but more of a village social gathering with everyone singing and bonding as a family.
However, I haven't had alcohol in 33 years.

Might be easier to list the brands of beer I haven't had.:20: I grew up on Rheingold in 16oz returnable bottles, savored the upstate NY boutique suds in college (Matt's, Genessee), and then had a beer-drinking epiphany when the microbrews came to market. Since there are only two beers generally available in my local area (Busch, Busch Light), I'm ready to start some homebrewing and have most of the equipment ready--but that's a topic for another thread.

Cheers.

Heiny, Amstel, or Bavaria.

I'm going to name my son Ken and my daughter Stella.......HeineKEN and AmSTELLA.

The thing is...........Bud gives me a wicked headache.:3:

I like ambers myself, Alaskan Amber, Fat Tire and Mac & Jacks. If I'm in a lighter mood, I'll have a Sam Adams light or Amstel light. Or if I'm hanging out with my filipino uncles, I'll have a San Miguel with ice in it. However, in my younger days, I was a 40 oz. Mickey's Ice drinker. That usually did the trick :D

I can't understand why Budweiser is the best selling beer in America - I think it tastes like p*sswater. Maybe 'cause no matter how drunk you are you can still manage to say GIMME A BUD! It always amazes me when at a party some people actually CHOOSE a Bud when there is better beer available.

I want a beer with some flavor, that means usually American micro-brews. The ones we drink most often are Anchor Steam, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, and Red Hook ESB, but there are tons of choices of great regional beers, especially here on the West Coast and the Pacific Northwest. Our local supermarkets have probably at least 20 to choose from, and places like BevMo even more. Life is too short to drink cheap beer.
