I know a few forum members were interested in getting silver side steps... So here's my Mahogany Touring with the side steps powder coated to match my alloy 18" wheels...

Step 1:
Call up Tim at HondaAcuraWorld (http://www.hondacuraworld.com/) and buy a set of side steps
Step 2:
Find a local powder coating company - I used Andrews Powder Coating, Inc in Chatsworth, CA which is close (enough) to where I live -- their number is (818) 700-1030 and I dealt with the owner, Scott. (www.powdercoater.com).
Because the original side steps are already powder coated, they have to chemically strip them first, and if you pick the same colour I did, then they also have to add a clear coat.
Total cost of the powder coating was $311.00 (plus the cost of the side steps).
If you get a group together, you'll be able to "dramatically reduce the cost" - Scott's words.
There was another thread where there's a company selling 3rd party side steps already painted(coated) for a lot less money. (http://www.acuramdx.org/forums/show...p?threadid=1332)
Good luck.

Rail, I like! Those side steps are awesome (your car's nice too). The contrast of the black end caps and the treads looks great.
I'm thinking they'd go well on my SS, now I just have to let these two side step strategies sort themselves out. |

Rail,
Side steps look fantastic! Too bad the sun wasn't out for us to admire your Zaino job...but you can get a little glimpse from the way the steps reflect off the lower door panel.
Last weekend rained up here in SF so only got 1 coat on ours; hoping for better weather this weekend! |

Thanks guys...
BTW they did offer another silver which was a little more chrome coloured which didn't require the additional clear coat - that would take bout $75.00 off the cost.
Scott, at Andrews powder Coating, tells me that for a run of 5 to 10 he could probably do the same colour as mine (including the clear coat) for about $200.00 per set.
D, can't wait to see what the Manik's look like.
Worm, the Zaino looks great - even the detailer was very impressed.
A4L, it's hard to see in the pics - but the pintripes were painted on with a thin gold line on top to match the gold kit and a silver line below to match the wheels and steps.
Thanks again and best to all.

| Rail, I just found that your wheels are different from mine. Did Acura manufacture different ones? Mine is base model and I checked the Touring package, the wheels are almost the same. |
