Our 2003 MDX "Service Engine Light" Flashes for about 10 seconds on start-up. Is this normal? The vehicle has 7,500 miles and I have changed the oil and filter three times - (1,200 miles, 4,200 and 7,200 miles). Is the light flashing a reminder that the oil needs changing? If so, is there a way to reset the reminder each time I change the oil?

I haven't read up on the X as I only have 700 miles on mine, but I'm sure that's what it means. My 00 Osyssey will flash the 'maint required' light like that for a couple hundred miles before the next change is due, then it just stays on once the change time passes. To reset it I have to turn on the key and hold the trip odo reset button for like 10 seconds. The owners manual will problably tell you the procedure for the X like it does for the Ody.
