I was surfing the net today and ran across some new phones to be released shortly abroad. Just shows how far behind the curve the US is in some technology fields.

US is seriously lagging in cell phone technology because phone companies have too much power. We need to be on the same standard with the rest of the world. You can't even use US cell phones in Europe. |

Yes, U.S. is definitely lagging. Ive been to third world countries and they have much better technology and service.
To Keremoner---There are certain cellphones u can use in europe. Cingular Wireless (formerly pacbell wireless) has world phones that u can in many many countries around the world. Particular phones in mind is the Ericksson T28W, Nokia 8890 (w/c I have) and motorola V90g (or V60g i forgot).
You can either have Cingular charge you when going to europe (super expensive) or buy a sim card (+prepaid) in that country (cheap). U should be able to change ur simcard which givs u a (new) phone number 4 that country. |
