'PC Card Door is OPEN' Error Msg!!! Help - Click HERE for Original Thread

Every time I turn on the car I get a message on the Navi screen saying. " PC Card slot door open please check system"

Does anyone know what this is about. I will try to have a picture of the screen if that is needed.

The strange part is that even though this happens the Navi system still loads and everything runs normally.

Help...do I need to call the dealer or is there some way I can fix this...where is the PC card slot?

Under the front passenger's seat. Perhaps someone kicked it open a little.

Sounds like the kids got there hands under the seat? Or was hit by mistake, take a look and close the door, like in the picture above.

I got the same message once...and i realized that while I was cleaning my X, I had actually opened the PC Card slot (slide the door to the right on the Navi) and had forgot to close the door all the way.

You will hear and feel a click when you close that sliding door on the Navi !

I can't seem to find the answer to this in search. How do I cancel a trip on the 2001 navi before destination? Nothing seems to cancel it on my X.

manus, not positive on this, but remember reading a while back if you hit map/guide (2nd botton) twice, it cancels current trip.

I have a 2003 X, and all I have to do is hit the Menu button, and the data screen comes up (the one that has the destination address and other options), and there is a button called "Cancel Destination". On hitting that the route gets cancelled.

I would not know if the Navi on the 2001 X has the similar setup or not.

The past day, when I start up the X, this msg appears on the NAV:

'PC Card Door is OPEN. System may not function properly'

However, the system does seem to work after the msg disappears..

WHAT THE HECK IS THAT!!!????

reach under the front of the passenger seat and find the Navi DVD player. Make sure the PCMCIA slot door is closed tight. You might need to open and close to ensure it's good.

What does one do with the PCMCIA slot?

Anyone ever used it?

Thanks,

Its used to download the gyro sensor logs for factory troubleshooting.

Now that sounds more realistic than Acura's claim that it's "used for future enhancements".

Zafer,

BTW, I once pressed those buttons on the NAVI panel to get to the developers menu and found a log that listed a lot of "WARNINGS!"....

Does everyone have it?

Thanks,

That isn't the changer, its the navi DVD drive unit under the passenger seat.

It is a little sliding door a few inches long. I had a problem with the message a couple of times when I first got mine until I pointed out to my wife that it was down there and to avoid it when getting in and out.
