| After opening the driver side door panel to install a speaker , I noticed a metal clip felt off. I have no idea where it came from. It's the same type of clip on the speaker grill, but I am 100% sure it's from the panel. Now the panel is not closing properly and it has a gap about 1/4 inch wide. When the road is bumpy it makes rattling noise when the driver side window is slightly opened. It seems that the noise is coming from the window next to my ear. It's fine when the window is closed. Can anyone please help? thanks in advance! |

Not sure why you took off the whole panel to replace the speaker .. but in looking at the service manual, the only place I see a clip similar to the metal ones on the speaker grill is on the power windows control panel. Everything else appears to be plastic clips or screws. FYI - there should be TWO metal clips on the speaker grill.
EDIT:
On the gap .... I had a similar problem on the right rear d-pillar trim. Turned out one of the plastic clips had bent over instead of seating in the hole. Just bent it back straight, lined it up, and all is well. |

Thanks for your reply. Which manual do you use? I always want a manual that shows every screws before I do anything to my X. |

I use the factory service manuals. You can get them from Helm's. Cost a little more than a Chilton's/Hayne's/etc, but well worth it for the amount of detail you get.
