I am getting a strange sound in the dash, it sounds a lot like a very small gear rattling at times. I would have thought the speedometer is electronic and therefore I have no idea what could be making the sound but if it is cable driven I think I would put it at top of the list of suspects.
Any ideas? |

It is electronic.
I can't think what type of gears would be making noise inside your dash...does the noise disappear when you turn the fan off? |

| I have never heard it sitting still, it seems to be speed related although no change when in neutral at highway speeds. |

Ok, I take it back, now I decided it is a rattle, at high speeds it just seems to be more apparent, something to do with the frequency the vibration is that sets off the rattle I suppose.
Updated description... Almost sounds like a couple dimes somewhere near the cowling of the steering wheel on the left side. |
