Aye, Captain, the Zaino bar seemed a bit clay retentive to me too.....I actually use Griot's claybar that is much more pliable. Of course, I keep it moist with Z6. ;)

I've found the Z claybar is OK once it's warmed up. Cold outta the can it's pretty hard. If you hold it in your hand & kneed it, or let it sit in the sun for a couple of minutes, it softens up OK. I've never used any other claybar, however, so have no basis for comparison.

I too noticed it was hard at first. It says to lubricate the claybar with some of the Z6 and water. In a bucket all alone with luke warm soapy water(Z6) drop the claybar in the bucket for a minute. It softens up pretty good. Then go ahead and use that luke warm soapy water to keep your claybar lubricated and get all the crud of your paint job. Works for me.:8:

I think you guys are confusing the z6 "gloss enhancer" (aka quick detailer/"QD") with z7 carwash. You use z7 w/the claybar, highly diluted in a spray bottle. You want the suds for the glide.

Wormster, yep, I use z7 when I use the claybar, but I put a spritz or two of Z6 inside the claybar container when I don't. Griot's comes in a tub. Seems to keep it from getting too hard.

Hi All:
___Zaino’s clay bar is a bit tough when its cooler (60 degrees and I finished about 3 hours ago ...) but it works so darn good! I have never used any other either so to each his own. When I was looking for Clay Bars, Zaino was about the least expensive for the amount of clay received. I will take cheap and great w/ a little work over expensive and slightly easier any day ;)
___Good Luck
