Hi,
I'm looking for a Silver/ebony Touring w/ DVD. I've found an '03 for 37,500 and an '04 for 40,500 (w/ mats and wheel locks thrown in).
If I tend to keep a vehicle 5-7 years, is it worth the savings to go w/ the '03? Or will I be missing some great new features?
Thanks,

| You will be missing out on side curtain airbags, dual exhausts, quieter ride, sunroof controls on roof console instead of left of the steering wheel, etc., etc., etc. |

| MSandman, it's a good question. $3,000 is significant. To me you're in the range of savings where you have to at least think about it. The new features vs. the cost. I guess if it were me and I could afford it I'd go for the '04 as there are some nice upgrades. Also, if you get the '03 every time you see an '04 you'll be saying to yourself - "I could have had that". Good luck! |

IMHO, the only real significant upgrade would be the side curtain airbags.
The other issue would be the greater loss in value of the 03 right after purchase because it is already considered a year old. If you do keep it for 5 - 7 years that's no concern. However, in my case,
resale value has unexpectedly become an important issue. I am having a number of problems that are not being resolved and while they are a major pain, they do not qualify for lemon status. Although I thought I was buying for 5 to 7 years, I am seriously considering trading it in for less troublesome vehicle. |
