Well, i had to bring my X in for its 7500 mile checkup, so while i was waiting, i asked my salesman to take me for a spin in the new TL. He said sure and threw me the keys to a badass Black Tl with a spoiler and Navi system inside. Let me 1st start by saying, this car is unbelievable. If you havent driven one yet, go as soon as possible, because this car makes every other car you can think of in its class look like crap. Its styling is beautiful, the Navi is very nice, same as Xs, but includes more voice activated things, including AC and stereo i think. The stereo is DVD 5.1 quality now, and man o man, is it unreal. Sounds spectacular. It also includes 1years worth of XM radio which i alWays thought was a waste, but its actually very cool. THe stereo actually tells you what channel you are listerning to aswell. Wish that it did that with radio stations and songs on cds, but i guess cant be askin for too much. The TL also is the 1st car to have bluetooth technology which connects your cellphone to the cars and when the phone rings, you click a button on the steering wheel and talk into the car as a speaker phone. Great Idea.
Its also got dual climate control, so the wife doesnt get pissed when you freeze your face. Its got controls in the rear for the kids to also freeze themselves. The seats are very comfortable. I think they were perforated like the cl-s. The engine is soo nice on this car aswell. Let me tell you that this car is soo quick and nimble i was almost ready to trade in My X for it, cause it actually made me miss my old CL-s.
But after my drive, i came back to the Dealer, and my X was all cleaned and ready for another 3000 miles before anohter checkup and it made me realize why i picked up the X to begin with. I love this Suv, more and more everyday. Has soo many great qualities that everyone of us on this site knows. Just wish i got better milage. Well hope everyone takes the drive, and hopefully ill get a wife soon so i can grab a TL for a 2nd car. hehe.

Lucky me!

My wife's GS300 was 5 years old and she was ready for something new when the TL's hit the dealers this month. She took 1 test drive, waited 2 weeks for a Navi, and it's sitting in the garage.

Still have concerns about s..t Acura customer service, but the 04 TL is fabulous so far. She's as peased with her TL as I was a year ago when I picked up my 03 Navi MDX. If the TL still puts a smile in her face a year from now, like my MDX still does for me, we'll have 2 "winner" cars.

Yes, yes, yes, it's very fast, quiet, handles great and loaded with goodies. The Bluetooth phone will become the car phone standard, the CD-A is beyond description, integrated XM radio is the way to go and you won't believe the difference in size between the 7" and 8" Navi screen. And, yes they did use the Accord Navi system with 298 voice commands including the audio (CD-A, AM/FM, Tape and XM controls) and climate control system. And, no I did not try to see if the 04 TL Navi DVD will work in the 03 MDX system (I'm afraid to try).

I'll answer whatever questions I can.

Thats one hellava garage, with a tl and a Mdx. All you need is a RSX for the kids and its a acura showroom. Good luck with the TL and MDX.

Where'd you get your Acura fleet?

Got mine at Rick Case.

These threads make me want to trade our 2001 TL. Especially since the TL's transmission has been acting up, i.e., slipping and it only has 46,000 miles. Luckily Acura extended the transmission warranty to 100,000 miles. Will be checking this out soon!!!

How would you say the new TL compares with other near-luxury sport sedans in the same price range such as the G35, 330i, & A4?

I'm looking at replacing my Maxima and want something that's really quick, corners on rails, and also has an air of sophistication. I've been looking at an A4 1.8T with tuner chip, but desire more of the G35 type torque and a little more space.

Thoughts?

We're building up our Acura fleet, too. Our '04 TL is on order with an 11/29 build date and an arrival a few weeks before Christmas. It is an awesome ride as are all of our X's. I got to take one home overnight for a real test ride. Only took it back because it didn't have a nav system.

So my wife always wanted a BMW 540i. We went this weekend looked at the new 540i and then then new Acura 2004 TL.

After comparing feature sets and figures...And then test driving it. TO my SURPRISE!!!

She wants the 2004 TL. So we ordered the 2004 Acura TL with Navigation. Anthracite with Ebony leather and 18 inch rims and a read deck lid spoiler.

FYI- the Navigation in the 2004 TL is NOT the same as the 2004 MDX!!!. The version in the 2004 TL has a VIA PC card that allows easy upgrades for firmware and also features as the newer voice driven GPS NAVI gets updated and revised. What this will allow the TL's technology to do is evolve as the technology for navigation to evolve.

The BlueTooth technology in the TL is AWESOME...I can use my cell phone and also HP iPAQ to exchange/link data to the TL and utilize the navi and the phone system to make calls using the speakers. VERY VERY COOL..

The driving experience on this vehicle is SICK!! at 270 horse with the weight to power ratio that this sedan has...I doubt it if Acura will be issuing an S-type version of this. IT IS A VERY VERY FAST CAR.

I actually got my cl-s at RIck Case, and got my X at Ed Morse. I went to Rick Case to try and trade in my cl-s early and they wouldmt do it, so a few months later I went to Ed MOrse and they took the 4 remaining payments, and put me into my Blue MDX, which i have had for 6 months now, and love it. Only the new TL has turned my eye. Could be my next car, if i get a significant other. hehe.
