| If this has been discussed before, I apologize. If you have access to a gas leaf blower, high powered, use it to dry the car prior to towel drying. I have a high cfm (cubic feet per minute) backpack type blower that I use to remove over 95% of the standing water on my X, especially those hard to dry areas - wheel lugs, mirrors etc. This can be done in a couple of minutes. Then about 10 minutes of final towel drying does the trick. This process saves alot of time and effort. Give it a try! |

Shouldn't be any problem; every one of 'em that I know about is double-insulated, which means that any shock hazard is somewhere around nil. And if your outlet is ground-fault protected, then there's NO chance. I find that, when I'm using my blower, the hardest thing to do is to keep from making physical contact between the blower's tip and the X. |

| I've been using a gas powered leaf blower for years to dry my vehicles but they're going to be banned due to noise in about a year where I live. Guess I'll have to pick up an electric blower, do they blow/suck as well? |

If you have to hold the blower near head level, wear ear plugs.
I like the California Blade best. Shop Vac on blower works well also because it has a nice long hose. |

I use the CA water blade as well. Once thought about using my blower, but I have had little rocks and sticks get caught up in the mechanism before. I'd go ape **** if I shot a rock at the car. I just tough it out with the water blade. |

Excuse me, I am not familiar with the term "leaf blower". Down heah in Texas, we have either "tumbleweed blowers" or "bat out of hell blowers". I prefer the later. I hand wash my X in a self serve wash....then beat it like a bat out of hell down the 2 mile access road at 70mph. By the time I arrive at my house, it is a simple matter to dry off my X with a microfiber towel in about 2 minutes.
I drove a Boston buddy back to the airport this week...he said, "nice wheels", I said "thanks, it's 2 years old". He fell out onto the access road. I thought of doing a "bat out of hell" routine on him, but instead showed him some Texas hospitality and treated him to some ribs and beer. Gave him some ear plugs. Too much country music, I reckon. |

I use my snow blower - the fine powder is just like a car wash, and it makes quick work of that accumulated slush and salt in sub-zero weather.
Gotta watch for them rocks though... |
