| Picked up my X last Monday just in time for a long trip. In one word "awesome"... what a way to justify a decision to purchase a more expensive vehicle....I digress . During the trip, evertime I backed up, I noticed that I had to re-adjust the outside mirrors.... I've done this no less than 15 times in the last week. Further, its my understanding that the review mirrors tilt downward when in reverse. If that is the case, mine either have stopped doing it, or never did .... any similar experiences or recommendations? Thank you !! |

The mirror selection switch (on the armrest) that you use to select which mirror you are going to adjust has to be in the middle position for this feature to work. Also, it's only the passenger side mirror that does this.
Sorry, never experienced or heard of the "readjusting" problem so can't help you there. |

Another possibility ... before you "backed up", did you unlock the X with the remote? It's possible your seat/mirror memory isn't set right. The X has a feature where the remote is "linked" to the memory settings ... there is a remote #1 and #2. For example, if you use remote #1 to unlock the X, then memory #1 is selected. If the memory is wrong (or you're using the opposite remote) this can happen.
A couple options:
-- Reset the memory correctly for the remote you use.
-- Use the other remote if you have the memory set already.
-- Disable the remote to memory "linking".
As Jim03MDX stated, the reverse tilt-down will only work on the passenger's mirror, and only if the mirror selector is in the middle selection. |

| Thanks "RonH" It was in fact related to the Memory 1 and the remote useage... Little did I know that the factory setting was being used each time I got in the X. The two times when I set the seating position in memory 1, it was right after I got in the car AND (the catch) before I adjusted the mirrors. So the X did exactly what I was programmed to do. Each time I adjusted the mirrors, got out and then back in, it went right back.... the answer was starring at me the whole time :-) This time, I adjusted the mirror AND then hit the memory 1 button.... All is well..... And yes, I observed in action what others have said, the reverse only affects the passenger.....Thanks for the quick replies.... This forum is AWESOME !!!! |

| Had identical "problem" two years ago yesterday when I picked-up my new '02. Didn't know about this board at the time so it took me a few days to finally figure out what was going on. Good luck with your new X. |

| And if you can't find the answer here, there is always the owners manual.:2: |
