My new 2004 MDX has a noise/vibration coming from underneath the car usually between the speeds of 39-42 and when I let off of the accelerator just a little bit. I can also make this happen by going thru the gears manually, hearing the sound when I switch into 4th gear.
So, upset that my new car has a defect, I drive to Acura to have them hear the sound and guess what- I cannot make the sound come back. Until the next day when it appears again. It has nothing to do with the car warming up- made it happen during a 400 mile trip.
The service tech said he never heard of transmission problems on the MDX and said it might be a normal sound for the tranny to make when it is searching for the right gear to be in.
After reading the notes in this file I can see that I am not the only one with this problem and will call Acura on Monday to get a time for them to check the problem .
Stay tuned. |
