Went to dealer service today for my 02 (base with 19.5k miles) and saw a sage brush base 04 on the lot. Heard a lot about the improvements for 04 and was wondering what the $$ differences would be if I get it traded.
$6K + tax(on the $6k only) & title, the sales told/quoted me.
What do you think?
Sage brush is good but like the aspen peral white (only seen on web site) as well. Do you guys have to wait longer for the aspen peral white?
Hmm, descision, descision....
Thanks. |

| If you are trading apples for apples (i.e. touring for touring or base for base) then it is a decent deal. Any time you can go up a model year for less than $3K-4k you will come out ahead or even in resale. The dealer should be giving you a discount on the 04', especially since it is in stock. Here in Chicago you can get $1,000 off MSRP and up to $1,500 on 04's. Good luck, let us know how it works out. |

Yes, it's a base to base model trade.
I only asked what the difference would be...
Any aspen peral white picture around beside on acura site?
Will do some search now... |

| I was also considering but I would have to sell myself for at least $32k, the dealer said the upgrade would cost $15k or higher with a trade in. I would swap mine for a fully loaded 2004 model with all options. I may try to put on market to see if my 2002 tour with nav with 32,000 miles could get that figure. Or wait for next year for the newer improved verision with 300 + Horsepower! |

Dear ssMDX:
Do not even blink - MAKE THE DEAL SAP IT IS FANTASTIC!
First of all there is added content on the '04 vs. '03, including a different rear end, additional horsepower and torque, thicker glass, 5 speed transmission and SVA ('03), further increase in horsepower and torque and head restraints ('04).
Forget about the discount on the '04. By discounting the '04 it further reduces the value of your '02 and all other used MDX.
The bottom line is that $6,000 cash represents only 17% depreciation in two years! That is unheard of - TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT!!!!
Also do not forget that with an '04 you warranty is now for 48 months vs. 24 months left on the '02.
You mention you are trading a BASE '02 so it is either copper to copper (apples to apples) or copper to gold! (base to touring).
However, IMHO, this deal is too good to be true and I will look forward to reading from you whether or not the dealer actually goes through with it.
Again - DO NOT BLINK - RUN TO THE DEALER WITH $6000 IN HAND! THIS IS A GREAT DEAL! |

| I'll do it right away but most likely the sales just want to get you excited. I have an '03 base and my sales told me they'll only offer 29k for my '03 base with 1k miles. If I were you, I'll trade it right away if the deal is that good. |

02 for a 04 at $6000 by a dealer.
1. Bait and switch
2. Dealer likes you alot.
3. Salesman full of crap
4. If true, you are wasting time and should have bought. I have been around long enough to know when you go back the deal will be void. You have to try now and prove it dude!!

| Sound good on the deal! I have an 03 touring and wanted to trade in on the 04 touring with Navi and Res. The dealer said he would take my car and $8500 for the 04. Does that sound good? That would make my 03 trade in at around $34K. Give me some opinions!! |

Depends on the model you have. And remember these things are not going for MSRP anymore. I would expect in Florida to get an even better deal under MSRP than some other parts of the country. |

Yes
Tell us if the dealer is really doing it for $6000??? |
|

| Well, since Nav and RES is $3500 that would be $5000 to upgrade from 03 . You get curtain bags and new 04 features but what about sales tax. I would have them sweeten the post. Counter with $7500 and take $8000 but not a penny more. |

| 6K + tax from 02 to 04? Too good to be true. If true, take it and run. It's even a fair deal for a 03. Which dealer do you talk to? I'll trade in my 03 if the deal ask less than 5K. |

Sorry that I was too busy at work for the past few days.
Thanks for the suggestions. I took the SBP delivery this afternoon. The whole process was smooth and quick.
$5800 + $199 doc fee + tax, that's what I paid for the difference to pick up this 04. This 04 also has the dealer installed "protection package" ($699 on the sticker, b/s!) which includes trunk tray, wheel locks, bsm that I don't have in my 02. Also it has all weather mats and front window tint for free. 10 miles on it when I have the car.
Courtesy Acura at littleton, CO is the dealer. They are honest as I can tell from my twice mdx buying experience.
PM me if you're interested in more information... (such as sales person info..etc)
After all, I guess it was a fairly good deal! ;)
Thanks. |

Has anyone priced an '01 Touring trade in on an '04 Touring.(Non- Navi's)
My '01 has 12K left on the warranty and I was offerd $23K trade
and $900 off MSRP on the new one. Comes to under $5K yearly depreciation over the past 3 years. |
