The Acura factory back-up sensors only come in black & won't match my silver 2004 MDX. Does anyone know of a company that sells aftermarket back-up sensors? I live in Orange County, CA (zip code 92653).

francesnbob,
The back-up sensors on every brand made are usually black. I have an aftermarket back-up sensor unit installed on my Taffeta White MDX and it is black also. If you want, you can always paint the back-up sensors to match the color of your bumper. This should not interfere with their operation or sensitivity. Good luck.:29: |

The ones I got, granted a cheap system, but works fine, the instructions specifically state not to paint the sensor surface. |

Maybe they are concerned there is still lead based paint out there..the same goes for 'dirt' but that more understandable. |

Thanks for your replies. How much did your aftermarket back-up sensor cost & who makes it?
Thanks Again,

Or you can get the Poron which costs just a little more but has 'voice'.....and mounts below the bumper. Lots of previous threads on these devices.
Here is just one of them that provides installation instructions, including pictures:

Great product, works well for its intended purpose. :29: |

Thanks everyone for your advice. I just spoke to John at Poron & he spent a lot of time explaining his system. He even said the cheaper system with voice only was better because the more expensive unit with the digital readout might tend to distract the driver. The installation photos & diagrams that were posted were great. I live in Orange County & John said he would have someone drive to my house and install the unit for $75.
Thanks Again |
