So the dealer I'm talking to broke the news to me that they put a "protection package" on all their new MDX's. Basically flaps and a cargo liner.
The liner's fine, but I've never noticed how many people have flaps. Are they really needed? I know they're charging me an arm and at least 1 leg, but they're working with me on $$$$......
Thanks. I'll check the pics, but would like some input on whether they actually perform a valid function. :) |

#1: Sorry about not contacting the moderator about this question before starting a new thread.... newbie mistake.
#2: I'm starting to think those mud flaps are standard!! Is that right?
Thanks.... |

Rear splash guards became standard with the 2003 model. |

| WHA the splash guards/mud flaps ,etc are supposed to be standard. What are they trying to pull. Tell them you dont want it, the tray that is. Of course find another dealer before this. Then walk. Also tell them how cheap you can get it from Tim at www.hondacuraworld.com. |

Jim03MDX,
you're right! I found my '04 brochure and it's there in black and white. I can't wait to call them and say "Look at page 27... what does it say about mud flaps??" Dumb @$$.

The problem is that they're discounting an '04 premium to down around $34.5k. Seems like a good deal. Agreed? |

Does that include the destination charge? Either way, yes, it's a good price. |

Yes. I only talk price +TTL with them. I may be getting close to actually OWNING one of these great machines. I just hope one of the few "little" annoyances (gas slosh, 70mph drone, etc.) doesn't hit me too hard......
Thanks for the opinion. Anyone getting a better deal on a Premium? |

That sounds like a pretty good deal on a Premium '04. But are they adding a cost for your protection package on top (mud flaps and liner).
If its included, I'd say great. |

Yeah, they want to add $400 for the flaps (bastards), wheel locks and liner. I'm sticking with no adders, and I'll order them from Tim!!
I just talked to them today, and they want to stay at $35k, so I may have to keep shopping. I think I can do better than invoice+$1700 somewhere close. :2: |

| Did they apologize for misleading you into thinking that flaps with additions. Did you call them on this? If they didnt apologize, look at the bright side at least you wont do business with them so you wont have to deal with the headache. |

Nope. No apology. The salesman seems rather new. I was trying to use that to my advantage, but turns out so was his manager.
Oh well. I can't WAIT to get an X...... I'm looking to pull the trigger........ |
