___Not that I don’t love driving the X but some of these prices are ridiculous!- New York - Penn Station (NYP) to New Orleans (NOL) or NOL to NYP = $80.40 from 01/06/04 to 02/12/04
- NYP to Charlotte (CLT) or CLT to NYP = $45.60 from 01/06/04 to 03/12/04
- Portland (PDX) to Chicago (CHI) or CHI to PDX = $51.40 from 01/25/04 to 02/07/04
- Seattle (SEA) to Los Angeles - Union Station (LAX) or LAX to SEA = $63.20 from 01/06/04 to 02/12/04
- Washington – Union Station (WAS) to Chicago (CHI) or CHI to WAS = $25.80 from 01/06/04 to 02/16/04
- Chi to NYP or NYP to CHI = $26.60 from 01/06/04 to 01/31/04
- Boston - South Station (BOS) to CHI or CHI to BOS = $26.60 from 01/06/04 to 02/14/04
___There are plenty of others but most are for my home state of Illinois to many other local destinations. You can view the entire price list over at Amtrak’s rail sale page here. Many of these schedules include deluxe or std. bedroom although I don’t actually know what that means given I have never ridden on an Amtrak myself …
___I think I would like to visit Ground Zero next month and this is a heck of a cheap way to do that …
