My mom bought an mdx and she got screens put in the back of the head rests...
anyone in the back can watch tv, but the navi won't show it unless the parking brake is on. I'm assuming it's because something is being ground on the parking brake....anyway to switch it so that all tv's will show tv or dvd or whatever while the e-brake isn't engaged? i.e. re-ground the cable? or how can that be done? thanks!

You need to give more details. What year is the X... What model/make is the converter that provides the TV / DVD signal, who did the installation...????
The unit that I installed had a parking break lock out feature that I just didn't install. Look at the box to see if there is a wire plugged into a spot that is labeled something like parking break wire or ground or light... Try unplugging that. |

i think circuit city or someone like that did the install. I think it's an 02 or an 03 mdx. I don't live at home and i wasn't there when it was bought....so i don't know all the details....i guess i'll just have to figure it out when i get home.
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

| or Best Buy or Good Guys or any of these stores they can not and will not defeat that parking brake feature for the monitor that is in direct view of the driver to avoid any legal action taken against them. I have a Panasonic head unit w/ built in dvd,cd, 5.1 processor. The parking brake feature was bypassed by grounding the wire. So it is a very easy mod but some head units might either be reversed so check the unit you are using. |
