I have a 2001 Silver MDX and am interested in adding the new body side moldings which I understand can be retrofitted with older models.
I see they are available for the Starlight silver but not Satin Silver colors. I was a bit surprised to see I ended up with a color which is a bit unusual - my 2001 MVS apparently is satin silver.
I have never seen anyone in this forum discuss satin silver on their MDX. Is there a possibility that my dealer invoice has a typo where it describes the color as satin - or were there a few satin silvers delivered in 2001. Starlight appears to be the more common color.
I guess I could always have the BSM's painted to match - but was curious as to whether I would see any notice any difference between the satin and starlight colors (maybe they're the same????). |

Wow, never in my life have I seen a Satin Silver MDX nor heard of one. If you do have one, you have a true one-off.
What's the color code in your drivers door jamb? |

The color code on the door jamb is: NH-638M-4. I'm hoping that means Starlight Silver.

| Satin Silver Metallic is a color used on the Honda Civic. I have an '01 Satin Silver Civic and 02' Starlight Silver MDX. Placed side-by-side the Civic silver has a very slight hint of purple and more metal flakes than the MDX silver. |

I'm glad to hear the color code matches Starlight Silver. Thanks for the quick reply.
Maybe this was just a problem with the options available when they printed my invoice back in '01 (as R Stevens mentioned satin would have already been on the sysem).
Now to do some research and see if the body side molding is a worthwhile accessory (I like the looks of the '04 bsm) - although I've read a few posts saying the paint doesn't stand up well. |
