I just installed the Infinitys on the front door. Real easy using the Markable's picture instructions on the other thread. However the rear speakers is a different story. The water cover is bigger on the 04 model and the Infinity ring adapter will only screw into the top hole. There isn't any other place to screw the other 3 holes on the ring adapter, and I don't just want to use just 1 screw to keep the speaker in place.
If anyone has already installed the Infinitys on their 04, please let me know how you did it.

| How much sound difference is there between the stock and Infiniti? Is it noticeable to someone who is not a complete audiophile? |

| Let's just say it's a notable change. Whether you can appreciate it or not depends on the individual. It does not approach true audiophile quality either, but it certainly sounds better than stock in my and other's opinions. |

I have an 04 and I am thinking of installing Infinity's as well. Were you able to install them in the back. If so, what did you do? Did you use Markable's instructions for the back to line up the holes so you don't have to cut the rain guard?

When we got the car my wife complained about the audio quality and she is not one to notice those kinds of things.
I am probably going to swap them out sometime and see if she says anything. |

OK. I installed the rear speakers. It's not a perfect fit, but it works. It doesn't fit flush against the white rain guard (or whatever that piece is in the 04)... I used a cordless powerdrill and made 2 new screw holes in the white piece using the top and left screw holes for the speaker. The speaker cover still fits back on. You can probably try and break off the bottom white tab to make it fit flush, but I didn't bother.
Sound is a definite improvement... especially with my amp/subs. |
