Using a windows system:
START>>RUN>>type "charmap">>ENTER
Choose your font and then select and copy the "cents" character to the clipoard. It'll be available as a paste when you are ready to edit your document. ¢ |

| easiest way is to hold down ALT key, and type 155 on the numeric pad (not the number keys on top of the keyboard) |

Ha! Very good.
Reminds me of that old documentary series, "Connections", that linked modern inventions and practices back to developments made over hundreds of years. Like how computer punchcards originated from pattern instruction cards used in Jacquard textile manufacturing in 18th century France, IIRC.
Hey, can you still get punchcards? I was probably in the last class at the Univ. of Rochester to use them in 1982. |

I knew there was a way to do it but not having a character map handy...
I thought the concept was interesting. I never really noticed the character went missing. I guess I was brainwashed. I wonder how many things change in a subtle way that we never notice. |
