| Does anyone know if there is drilling involved with installing the step bars? Any other installation tips or tricks from someone who has done it themselves? |

No drilling at all.
If you look under the car, there are existing holes for the step par.
All you need is a torque wrench and a wrench ( can't remember the exact size).... best part is that the car doesn't even have to be jacked up.
Let me know if you need any more info! |

... although there are a lot of bolts (they are very sturdily mounted).
Try SEARCH for older threads discussing information. I believe the actual instructions can be downloaded from www.hondacuraworld.com |

Even Tim's excellent instructions from hondaacuraworld.com don't mention the non-obvious nature of the "fillers" that the factory puts in -- you push in the center a bit and they "unpop" so that they are easily removed...
You can "preassemble" the six brackets, that saves about a third of the bolting.
Then you just lay out the brackets and have an "assitant" hand you each assembly as it is attachd to the vehicle.
The step itself is light enough to hold in postion and secure without assitance, though having someone "hold it here" makes it easier to move around.
The renov8tress & I installed both sides in under two hours, while having our then 18 month old "supervise" (our then 5 week old was napping...) |

No drilling, but if you do a search you'll see that a whole bunch of us have self-installed the steps, shouldn't take more than 90 minutes. DOn't have adealer do it for you, its a fairly straight-forward process. Good luck. |

Hi GScottMcV:
___I have to concur with both Renov8r and GreatScot. No drilling and they are just too simple to give the stealer $150 - $300 for 90 minutes of work. It’s so easy a 10 year old child could do it … If you have a 10 year old in the house, pay him $20.00, help him lift the bars to attach for that 10 minutes and you will both be very happy ;)
___Good Luck

| Thanks for the help. Just what I was hoping to hear. Not a big believer that a dealership will do a good job anyway. |
