The holidays left us way overstocked on cargo covers, so cargo covers it will be :)

Regular price 116.70, our sale this month, $99.00! Price good through the end of January.

This month marks 3 years that I've been working with the members of this site. Thanks to everyone that helped made my job possible, a guy couldn't ask for better customers or friends! :)

Nice accessory. I have a question. If installed behind the second row, does it allow the use of the third row seats? Can the third row seats be as simple folded flat/up as without the cargo cover?
KenF
The cargo cover also has attachment points behind the third row seats for storage when those seats are in use, so you don't have to take it out of the vehicle. I don't know if you can leave it in place in the regular spot and open the third row seats. You certainly can't get in and out of them, so it would be best to move it to the back mounting points.

The cargo cover can be installed either: (1) directly behind the 2nd row seats; or (3) directly behind the 3rd row seats. So, if you want to use the 3rd row seats, just move the cargo cover behind the 3rd row. It's very easy to move the cargo cover back and forth (or remove the cargo cover).

Sorry, but I am one (maybe the only one) that thinks the Cargo Cover is way over-priced for what you get. I don't think I would even pay $50.00 for one.
Now, on the other hand, if the group buy were a moonroof air deflector, well then . . .

I like the look of the deflector but I'm afraid it might:

(a) block some of the light coming in from the already small moonroof

and

(b) create noise while driving

Any concern on your part or am I just being paranoid?

The moonroof deflector actually reduces noise while driving with the roof open. Have not noticed any noise difference with the roof closed (on or off).

As for blocking some of the sunlight, I consider that a good thing. I find it particularly annoying when the sun is directly overhead and just barely in your peripheral vision. I don't think this problem is as bad in the MDX as it was in my Prelude, but at least I never have to close the sunshade, which I used to do a lot in the Prelude.
I love my moonroof deflector.

It's just you ;) I think the cargo cover is a great accessory and @ $99 a great deal. We use it all the time.

Good thing you don't own an Infiniti FX. $300+ for their cargo cover (which is outrageous).

Just beware that cargo cover has tendency of making rattling noise and jumping out of place while you're driving. And I'm on my third (the previous two were replaced under warranty).

Congrats! That's a nice "GREEN" automobile. Rare on the road but everytime I see one I always give the driver a little toot of the horn.

Bought my cargo cover last month at the old price & thought it was worth it. Actually, I still think that it should just come with the car. I haven't had it long enough to really tell if there are rattling, etc. problems with it, but I feel safer parking the X with expensive packages in the back when it's covered up.

I used to drive a BMW 540i wagon with cargo cover. It worked great for the first year. After that, rattle noices came from the assembly and the plastic cover. If it came with the car, it would be great. I can't imagine a $40k vehicle does not come with it as standard equipment!
Sir P
Do we need to start a poll about the rattling problem with the cargo cover? It would be very helpful for people who want to buy it.

Has anyone attempted to fix the rattle noise? Maybe put some grease somewhere or tighten something up?

46,500 miles on the '01 w/ Cargo Cover and it has never rattled:1: Actually I think the cargo cover is the cause of the drone at 2000k (or is that a y2k hum)

Was yours the first design, or the second design when they started embossing them with logos and changed the handle style?

I'll assume the first - it came with the car in March '01. I guess I did not know there were two styles, I need to look.

Tim, I also have a noisy cargo cover (mentioned it in a separate thread) . I got my cover from you indirectly through Peninsula Imports in Oakville in December. I assume therefore that this would be the second design?

It's annoying enough that I'd return it if I could simply go to my local Acura Dealer here in Ottawa, but I'm not sure that it's worth the shipping expense, if I have to send it back to you. It's especially bad when it's retracted. You hear it over every little bump. :( At least when it's extended, you only hear it over bigger bumps.
hondacuraworld
I should reiterate that all genuine Acura parts purchased through Hondacuraworld can be replaced under warranty from any Acura dealership for 12 months/12,000 miles. How Canada works I'm not sure. Or, I can always take care of it the next time that you're in Buffalo.
dguthmann
Ok thanks Tim.

Not likely to be in Buffalo anytime soon, unfortunately.

I'll have my local dealer have a look next time I'm in and see what they can do. It's unlikely they'll even ask where it came from. I'm sure they'll just assume I got it through them.

I have a cargo cover in my '03 and love it. In fact, my wife (who is very hard to please) actually finds it very useful as well and thought it was well worth the price.
dguthmann
I brought my squeeky cargo cover (the one I got from Tim) into the dealer and gave them 2 chances to fix it. The second time they offered to simply replace it. So far the new cover appears to be much quieter. :)

Still kinda curious if Hondacuraworld parts are warranted by Honda Canada. I don't see why they shouldn't be, but I didn't really want to ask either.
hondacuraworld
Gray area.....fortunately the Canadian and American parts are indistinguishable from each other.
DMor
My cargo cover makes this 'pinging' sound. I don't pay much attention to it and kept repositioning my cargo...thinking my normal payload was the problem...but maybe it IS the cover. One of my passengers in the back thought it was coming from one of the springs in the back of the cover. Pling...Pling...Pling. Gosh...think a little screen spline will tackle this? :)

When I traded the '01 in January it had a cracked windshield that they said they'd fix before selling. I wonder what they thought of all that spline :7:
