Hi,
I was there on vacation back in 1971. You can see the cliff divers and go parachute sailing or snorkeling. I enjoyed renting a Volkswagen "THING" for the day and driving away from the coast over the mountain to see the real Mexico. Some small villages about 20 miles away had no paved streets and the houses looked like they had dirt floors and no doors. Pigs went around with collars like pet dogs.
You can barter over the price of the stuff in the markets. I would offer them less than half price and then try to walk away and they would finally want the sale at the low offer. I really enjoyed the food plan that was with the hotel that included a 12 course meal at one of six places with great food and waiter service 100% of the time you are eating.
Have fun. |

Well I'm back
First thing, this morning the X started, no problem, after sitting in the garage for 7 days in cold, cold weather.
Did not see any X's in Acapulco, saw a Murano, new Accord, Pilot and lots on VW taxis.
points worth knowing, to help you decide, if you ever want to check it out
very hot and sunny even in January
excellent food and service at our hotel
drinks brought to us right on the beach
lots of stores, including Walmart, Costco, Office Max
very city-like, not like being on an island
lots of peddlers on the beach
lots of night-life
golden sand, not white power like on some islands |
