From sfgate.com (the online version of the San Francisco Chronicle and Examiner newspapers) the word of the year for 2003 is:
"Metrosexual"
The term denoting meticulously groomed straight males was the overwhelming winner, getting 57 percent of the more than 3,000 votes cast in an SF Gate poll.
"Bling-bling," the hip-hop word for shiny stuff like jewelry and tire rims, finished a distant second, followed by "embedded," "governator" and "Kah-lee-for-ni-a."
This is the third year for the contest, in which readers nominate and vote on the choices. Prior winners were "9-11" in 2001 and "nukular" in 2002. "
I thought it might be interesting if we did the same for acuramdx.com. What's your nomination for the Forum Word of the Year-2003"?
I first heard the term "Bling-bling" on this forum so that word is one to start with. Others come to mind like: humming, RES, updates, etc.
Are you in?? |

Yes, probably the most used proper name. Maybe it needs to be expanded..to:
"...have you 'timmed' out your X yet?
"I am in middle of timming my X, just have the cargo cover to go."
"Ah, she is fully timmed, thanks to Tim!"
"Shall I order this from my dealer, or just Tim-it!"

Its interesting to note that Acura doesn't call it an X, just people on this board call it an X. Think about it--Acura has the NSX, RSX, TSX, MDX and the upcoming RDX. They refer to the cars by the first two letters so they call it the MD.
Someone way back posted they had a license plate that said "Dr. X". :2: |

| JL_SS: These don't have to be new words, just over-used, commonly used, recycled, tongue-in-cheek, pun-type, cynical, etc. words. I would ask that at the end of this thread that we set up a poll to vote on the winning word. So far, I really like "thong", "Zaino", and "Timmed". |
