Air Deflector Narrow or Full Width? - Click HERE for Original Thread

I'm in the middle of trading in my 2001 MDX for a 2004 MDX and was checking out the accessories on the acura.com website. It looks like there are 2 Air Deflectors, a narrow one and a full width one. Are there any advantages or disadvantages between the two? How about the looks, I haven't seen the narrow one in person.

Any feebacks would greatly be appreciated. Thanks

Are you asking about the front deflector or the rear deflector?

I also play Ping!:2:

Its the front, I guess they're also called hood protector or bug shield.

Thanks

Don't get either get one . The OEM as long as I can remember has had issues with whistling at speed. I doubt the narrow one is any better. Ask Tim if he still has the Formfit deflector for the MDX, I couldnt find it on the HA site. They look better and sleeker and no noise. BTW the rear tailgate items are called Tailgate deflector or Spoiler.

Yup thats it but wrong picture, that is the OEM deflector. The form fit looks like this one.
hopeitsfriday
The form fit is also alot easier to install, no drilling require. It utilize existing tapped holes and clips. The new narrower air deflector requires drilling new holes.

Your Baby looks so cool.
I have a full mask and just wonder if I can install the form fit deflector. I figure not to use the mask cover the hood and have the deflector on to protect the bug. Thanks,

That's exactly how I do it for road trips . . .

Thank for the picture,
I'd have the mask on all the time. But I hate to remove it when it rains. Especially, around this Spring time.

It's a bit of a pain to remove and reinstall on a regular basis. But as you said, it's very important not to trap moisture underneath, or debris. And a lot of debris gets underneath.
Like greatscot I keep mine on for roadtrips (except winter) and during harvest time around here when bugs are in great abundance.
I have ones for the side mirrors too. I use the Formfit in place of the hood 'bra'.

My MDX color is white. It would be great to have a clear deflector. I just wonder if Tim has one? Thank all for the advice.

Thanks Dale, that is definitely better than the mirror covers from Acura IMO.

The backs of the mirrors can be a true b$tch to clean when plastered with ecoskeletons.
