I have a 2001 MDX touring (no Nav) with 9 months left on the lease. After finding this website and getting some ideas from here, I thought I would email some Acura dealers to see if I can get a good deal on a 2004. Now, there are no Acura dealer locally , nearest is about 90 miles away and a couple about 100 miles away so it wasn't convenient for me to go to the dealers personally. So I contacted 3 dealers via the email, 2 responded back immediately, 1 of the two just gather more info and never got back to me, the other one gave me a price right away ... $41,242 for a Touring w/NAV & RES. I thought OK that would work for me, now how much for my 2001 with 41K miles? The dealer calls me back, and says I have a payoff of $25,060 and he would give me $26,000, so that would give me about $1000, to use to reduce my Cap cost.

So bottom line is I will be getting a 2004 Nav and RES with a lease pmt of $529, my current 2001 lease is $520. The 2004 will have NAV and RES, and I'm able to end my 2001 lease 9 months sooner. I'm thinking this is a no brainer.... money factor must be low to get my new monthly payment close to my original lease pmt. There are no sales tax in Oregon so the only other fee I have to pay is $218 (which covers DMV registration for 2 years and dealers processing fee) In addition I got the color I wanted its Aspen White Pearl, my 2001 is Nighthawk Black, which I didn't want, but had to get, due to the hot demand for these cars back in Nov. of 2000. All of this was done via 5 emails and 2 phone calls from the dealer, pretty effeicient I think.

So the car gets delivered in 3 weeks...looking forward to it. :2:

Sounds fantastic!

You basically went from a 2001 to 2004 for $9 a month - and a base to touring!

SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!

Just make sure of one thing: $=25060 is pay off and not buy back. If it is pay off everything is fine. If it is buy back, then it will probably be inverted - i.e., the car is worth less than the buy back and you will have to come up with money.

Keep us posted on the progress, as I too lease and if I can go from a 2003 to 2004 for virtually no money - well it is a NO BRAINER!

Yes the $25060 is the payoff, I double checked with American Honda Finance. So going to a newer model car with more options for $9/month WAS a no brainer, in my opinion. I think, the high residual value and the high resale value of the MDX really helped out in this situation.

What I like about the whole deal is that the dealer, I dealt with, didn't B.S. around. Just gave me the bottom line figures, and said "here it is ... see if it works for you" I appreciated that. :)

FANTASTIC

Keep us posted when the car comes in!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
