I just purchased the wide body side molding for a 2004 MDX. It say's that I need to install it when the temperature is 60 degrees or higher..... this means I would have to wait about 3 months.
Has anyone installed in temperatures closer to freezing (32 degrees)? |

ownmdx,
Q: Why don't you try installing the BSM on your MDX in a heated, closed garage? |

| I do not have a heated, closed garage nor do I have access to one. |

ownmdx,
That does present a challenge doesn't it? Please keep in touch and let us know how your BSM installation goes in three months. Good luck.:29: |

Need 3 people in the winter to install??!! One to heat the area with a hair dryer, one to hold an air temperature guage, and one to install the moulding when the temp. is correct?
Kidding aside, I would not try to install at freezing/colder temps. |

| Have you thought about having Acura dealer install it? It's probably going to cost you about $40 but it's better than getting your door ding on during your next shopping trip. If you are really the "hands on" type and want to do it yourself, I guess you need to wait a few months. |

I will go with the dealership or wait until the weather gets warmer, whichever comes first.
Thank you for the input |

| I had the same issue with the temperature when I got my wide BSMs. Luckily, I have an attached garage. It was about 40 degrees outside but my garage read 53 degrees so I took the chance. Good thing I did - the temp in NYC hasn't been above 30 degrees for about a month now. So far, the BSMs are holding up well. I might have waited if not for the fact that I wanted to cover a 10 inch scratch that I got about 4 days after I picked up the vehicle. I lucked out in that the scratch was right where the BSMs installed. If the temp where you are isn't at least in the 50s, I would say wait or go to the dealer. The dealers around me wanted $75 - $100 to install them. Maybe you could try a local body shop? They can do it inside and probably won't charge as much. |

I was going to install them myself, and paid 89 for the dealer to do it.
No brainer to do so, in my opinion.
